Question about 2000 Volkswagen Passat 4Motion
Well the brake fault appeared on the display and the ABS light came on as well. The guys down at autozone couldn't pull a code and don't have the funds to go to the dealer. Can anyone help?
this could also result from low brake fluid check the brake level if it is full un plug the switch @ the e-brake lever and see if it goes out if it dose the switch needs replaced

Yes. Both lights usually come on when there is an ABS problem detected whereas the brake light will usaully only come on by itself with the hand brake or low fluid.

SOURCE: ABS light and brake light on
there are 2 options, ABS module is most likely, I just had my ABS module remanufactured and it worked greate when i re-installed.
the second option is the wheel sensor could have a bad connection(may have been bumped when your bearing got looked at.
there are a few companies that repair ABS modules, i used modulemasters, they did a good job, i can not vouch for any of the other companies.
