Question about 1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme
I recently replaced the eprom and computer on my oldsmobile. When these two things went out, the check engine light came on the the car would stall out and ran really rough. About two weeks later, the car started having other problems. In the morning while I am driving to work the car runs fine, but in the afternoon, when its really hot outside, after I drive about 20 miles, the car starts jerking and the tachometer starts jumping up about 5 rpms then falling back down again. When I take my foot off the accelerator, the engine smooths out again. Is this problem serious? or is it just another sensor shorting out?
The battery has to reset itself and it will work fine

It's more than likely that it is just another sensor. Is your check engine light on? Common sensors that can cause that type of problem are MAP(Manifold Absoulute Pressure Sensor) or TPS(Throttle Position Sensor). Typically the MAP sensor would turn on your check engine light and the TPS would not turn on the check engine light. Another possilble cause is the EGR Valve(Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve) and this valve also would not turn on your check engine light.
Hope this helps
