Question about 1995 Honda Accord

1 Answer

95 Accord turns over but periodically won't start

My son has a 1995 Honda Accord that works just fine at times. Then all of a sudden (while he is driving) it completely dies and won't start. Normally after waiting about ten minutes the car starts and runs just fine. The only consistency is we have noticed that perhaps rain.

Our mechanic (who is a generalist, not Honda specialist) is baffled. He cannot duplicate the problem.

Do you have any suggestions?

This could be a few things when the car WONT start open the air filter chamber and get a helping hand , remove the air filter and spray some startingfluid into the tube going to the engine, have the helping hand turn the key over if the car will run then its a fuel problem, it could be a bad pump clogged system, bad spark plugs, or a slipping timing belt.... Try this first everytime you get in the car before starting it, turn everything off (fans,ac,lights, radio, radar detector,) sit down and turn the key to the run position (NOT THE START) wait 10 seconds and then turn the key if it starts then it could be a bad fuel pump..... YOu should be able to hear a slight Humming noise coming from the gas tank ... do this and let me know the results my e-mail address is fixya@whypayforhelp.org

All my lights work.fine on my car. But signal lights won't work in.the front of back. How do I fix them. For a 95 Honda accord lx

Please check on the main fuse box for the fuse to the turn signal as this can be the fault. If not check the voltage on the flasher unit to confirm if the unit is faulty.

95 honda accord turns over but wont start

Sometimes when a fuel filter is stopped up,and you change it,the fuel pump later, will go out, cause of the strain on the pump.

95' accord 4cyl quit running suddenly, will not start

Low coolant will make the AC work harder but should not shut the motor off. Start by checking the battery, plugs, plug wires, distributors, fuel filrter, fuel injectors and idle air control valve.

Same problem with the hot air 95 accord

You got to the station and say "hot air recharge please". They will let you know if that's something to try. They say most of the time the recharge won't last long enough because of leaks in the system, always a big problem.

1995 Honda Accord will not start

First you must check to see what missing. You must have spark at the pugs and gas at the injector for this car to start. See whats missing and get back to me. The 1995 Honda Accord has a history of bad distributor. If there is no spark at the spark plugs replace distributor. However on some models the coil is separate and not in the distributor, if so make sure the coil is working.

Over heating 95 honda accord.

You have a big problem! The head is shot! You will need to have it machined and checked for cracks. Overheating is a killer! Replace the cam belt at the same time. Frankster016
