Enter vehicle, close and lock all doors.
slowly insert and remove key from ignition 6 times within 10 seconds. The tail lamps will flash to indicate original code has been erased. Turn ignition to the ACC position.
Press any button on 1st transmitter.
Hazard lamps will flash to confirm programming.
TO enter additional transmitters, unlock then lock the doors using the power lock switch located on the driver door.
Press any button on additional transmitter (up to 4 tansmitters total possible). Hazard lamps will flash to confirm programming.
open the driver's door.
Turn ignition off.

You must re-program all existing transmitters as this process erases codes from car.

Call Nissan they have to program your old keyless remote to your new cars ECU. Unless your a computer wiz you can do so research and get the program to do it yourself. Call Nissan first.

I need to re program my key pad to my car it is a 99 grand am. how do i do it?

If your 1999 Grand Am was built late in 1999 you will have to go to a Locksmith or Dealership to get your remote programmed. If your 1999 Grand Am was built eary in 1999 you can use the programming instructions below.
1. Make sure ignition is in the OFF position.
2. Locate the programming connector in the trunk (drivers side). It is a plastic
connector with two wires leading up to it. The connector is not plugged into
anything. You may have to pull back trim to access connector.

3. The programming connector should have two terminals. Connect both terminals
with a suitable jumper wire. Make sure the terminals remain connected
throughout the programming procedure.

4. Press the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the remote simultaneously. In response
the Keyless Entry Module will cycle all the Door Lock Motors at once. Your new
remote has been accepted and all existing remotes have been erased.

5. Repeat the previous step for each additional remotes (including any exsisting remotes)
Do not remove jumper wire in between programming of remotes.

6. Remove the jumper wire from the Keyless Remote Connector.

Thank you for using fixya and good luck

Hi I want to program a new keyless fob. I have the original fob that works great.Do I need to do anything to the original key when I program the new fob? 2006 nissan altima

1. Close and lock all doors with the driver’s side power lock/unlock switch.

2. Insert key into ignition and remove it from the ignition key cylinder at least six times within 10 seconds. Your Hazard
Lamps will flash if you have performed this step successfully. NOTE: Withdraw key completely from ignition cylinder
each time. If this procedure is performed too fast, system will not enter programming mode.

3. Insert key into the ignition cylinder and turn to the ACC position.

4. Within 5 seconds, push ANY button on the remote transmitter. Your Hazard Lamps should flash. NOTE: Do not press
the button more than one time in the above step. If the button is pressed more than one time, the programming
procedure will not be successful.

5. If there are any remaining transmitters (including the old ones), unlock then lock all doors using the driver’s side
power lock/unlock switch and within 5 seconds, push ANY button on the next remote. Your Hazard Lamps should
flash. Repeat this step for each transmitter (including any existing transmitters).

6. Turn the key to the OFF position, remove keys from the ignition, unlock doors using the driver’s side power lock/unlock switch and open the driver side door.

Keyless entry remote

hello Kirk , follow these instructions carefully :

sitting in car with all the remotes you wish to register with the vehicle readily available ,,close all doors ! insert key into ignition and remove 6 times within 10 seconds ,, (hazzard warning lamps will then flash twice) ** note withdraw key completely from the cylinder each time ,, if procedure is done too fast it will not enter registration mode ,, ok ,, insert ignition key into cylinder and turn to the accessory position ,, Push any button on the key fob once ,, (hazzard warning lamps will then flash twice),, at this time the new ID code is entered ,, at this time open drivers door ,, check operation of all remotes ..

enjoy Mate .
