If you look at the top of the head light assembly with the hood open just past the top rubber seal, you will see an alan head adjustor screw. This will adjust the low beam light up and down. the high beams are fixed. I would suggest shining your headlights on to a wall or garage door to get them to the same hight you need.

I am assuming that the design was not changed from my 2005 updander to your 2008. I had to adjust mine while on a road trip. We had a lot of people and stuff in my vehicle which made the headlights shine higher than normal. I was getting a lot of on commig traffic flashing. I was able to ajust them down fairly easy with those adjustor screws. Hope this helps.

Thankyou. I have a Pontiac Montana 2009 (sister car of the Uplander) and your instructions were bang on. I was searching everywhere and for anything. The allan (lug, hex) bolt looks like it belongs to the electrical wiring or something to do with taking out the bulbs or something... so I assumed it wasn't the adjustor. It was, and it's very easy to see and access. Right on top of everything, just aft of the rubber seal around the light assembly. I don't know if the lights have a lateral (left right or side-to-side) adjustment, but all I needed was to raise mine a bit and that allen bolt did the trick. Maybe someone else will know if they have lateral adjustment bolts too, or if the high beams can be adjusted as well. I doubt the latter, and wil check back here for any updates on the former. The allen bolt you indicated just adjusts the low beams, and I think the high beams are factory set for .... wowser lighting, because you only use them when there is no oncoming traffic.

Thanks again for a clear, concise and correct answer to a question that thousands are asking about all over the internet...with no success. cheers

SOURCE: Can't find the adjustment knob for the headlights on a 2008 Mazda

The adjustment screws/nuts should be located either on the top of the headlamp assembly, behind the headlamp assembly, or near the frame rail by the radiator support.

You will have vertical adjustment screws for each independent beam (separate highs and separate lows, but will be same screw if highs and lows are the same bulb). You may also have additional horizontal adjustment screws as well

Park your car on a level ground 30 feet from a wall and measure the height from the ground to the bulb and mark on a wall (do this for highs beams and low beams if the bulbs are separate, if highs and lows are the same bulb, only do it for the lows)

If the headlights read VOR, then aim the brightest part or cutoff part just below the mark on the wall. If it says VOL or nothing, aim them 2 inches below the mark on the wall.

SOURCE: opel astra headlight adjustment

two screws on each headlight control the direction the headlights are aimed. One screw, usually at the top but sometimes below the headlight, adjusts the headlight up and down. The other screw, located to one side, controls the headlight from right to left. Turning the appropriate screw one direction or the other will change the direction the headlight points.
In order to aim your headlights you need to have a flat vertical surface you can aim your headlights at in front of a level surface on which to park the car. If your driveway is level your garage door is the perfect place to aim your headlights.
The tools you will need for this job are simple. Masking tape is used to mark where the headlights are to be aimed and a screwdriver is needed to adjust the headlights. A tape measure will be necessary to measure the distance of the vehicle to the surface you're using to check the aim and to measure the up and down distances from your marks

How to install a 2008 chevrolet uplander van a/c compressor kit

Michael, this job requires special tools. You need to recover the refrigerant. But your big issue will be removing all of the moisture from the system, after the compressor surgery.
System oil is another major concern. As per directions, measure that you remove from the compressor. Adjust accordingly. Meaning for example, (Random values, check specs for your system) if you were to have 4 oz of oil in the compressor, but you find only 3 oz (measured!), you are not down 1 oz. The entire system is 25% low on oil. Adjust accordingly. No biggie, but if you are not aware of these things, you will introduce moisture into your system, which will react negatively with the metal parts of the system, causing costly damage.
Always replace the receiver/dryer when you open an A/C system.
(it has oil in it, too...)
Really, dollars and cents, this job might want to be done by a trained professional.

Discharge of refrigerant is ******* most everywhere.

2008 chev uplander headlight

You must reach around to the body of the headlight switch and feel for a small round dot about 1/8 inch in diameter. This button is spring loaded and pushes in as you pull on the lightswitch knob, then you must push it a second time to release the knob. Please make sure your battery is disconnected while performing this procedure for the headlights will stay on otherwise. Then remove the retaing collar at the center and the switch will pull "back" from the dash enough to remove the wiring harness. Thank you, Dana
