2004 Mercedes-Benz CLK 320: Alarm issue

Since early yesterday afternoon the alarm on my CLK has been randomly going on and off. At times it just makes a quick sound. At first I thought their might be a bird in my garage but then I realized it was my alarm. It became so annoying that I had to remove the three fuses that were link to the Anti-theft alarm (fuse #s 8,9,41).
I have extended warranty but I don't think it covers any alarm related problems. Does anyone know what could be the problem and how I can solve it?
Thank you!

I am also having the same problem in my 2004 CLK 320. The alarm goes off after I lock the door. Sometimes the lights flash and then when I try to open the car and reset the lock, the alarm goes off. Does anyone have an answer?

I have the exact same problem. It started a few day ago, with only the lights blinking, but yesterday the alarm went on-and-off all by itself. I tried unlocking the car, locking the car, inserting the key in the ignition, starting the car, opening the trunk & hood, but nothing could make it stop. It just continued going on-and-off for about 5-10 minutes straight, then it just stopped as suddendly as it started.

The first thing to do is to check the battery. The alarm goes on and off as do the lights in fairly random way as the battery charge level starts falling towards the critical level.

I had the same problem in my 2004 CLK 500. I took it to the dealer and they said it was shorting out and it needed a new alarm siron. The repair cost was $450. What a rip off.

I changed my key and the problem disappeared. I think there may have been an electrical short in the key electronics. I'm happy again :o)

Sounds like an after market alarm. If so, take it out or replace it. When I get cars like yours or won't start. If I see an aftermarket system, I tell customers that I won't work on them till this is out of the cars system. 99% of the time, The car works.

Reset alarm

More than likely the hood switch needs to be replaced. A faulty hood switch will make the car think someone is opening the hood and it will sound the alarm.

My car alarm comes on randomly and I would like to disable the alarm.

The easiest way to disable the alarm is simply to cut the power wire to the alarm horn. When you have more time, you can try to locate the actual power wire to the alarm, which is usually hidden so thieves can't find it.

Clk 320 alarm lights(indicator Lights)flashing randomly when car is locked. it comes on and off by it self.no sireen sound. any help please

hello, i live in Mexico and I got the same issue with my MB, the problem is the Alarm Battery, it must to be replaced. Meanwhile remove Fuses 8 and 9 (into the trunk) and 41 (next to dashboard), this will disconnect the anti theft system. for safety when lock/unlock the car press the remote in front of the infrared port. Good luck solving this issue, for me was very very stressing.

I have the same problem on my Chateau, Can't buy new module, probably cost a fortune anyway. Disconnect the Grey connector on the alarm control module. I left the black on on for no special reason. Your power door locks will no longer work. (I'm not sure about the horn. If it doesn't I'll do something else)
The black control module is located on side of the van about 1 foot behind the drivers seat. Remove 2 plastic push in clips and yank the panel away to gain access to the module.
