There is a special tool to remove the fuel filter---if it close to the gas tank--remove the 2 nuts that hold the fuel filter bracket to get more room--any auto parts store should have the tool--install around fuel line & push towards filter & that unlocks the spring clip on the filter so you could remove the filter

Where is the fuel filter located at on a 2007 f150 5.4v8 engine?

You'll find the fuel filter inline on the inside of the frame rail just under the driver seat location. You'll need a special plastic tool that wraps around the fuel line to press into the connection to remove the filter from the line on both ends of the filter. Just push this tool into the connection and pull the filter off the line. To replace the filter just push it on the line and it is connected. Be sure it's set in proper direction of flow and pushed on solid.

Fuel system problems

Check that fuel pressure is up to specs. Should be a connection at fuel rail to attach gauge. Maybe try removing one line where they connect for feed from both tanks and plug it good. Something may have happened when blowing lines that is allowing one line feed to suck air at same time as fuel from the other. Perhaps check valve in line. Try both ways, with each line to see if problem cured. Low pressure reading would indicate that possibility. Check all fittings & connections for possible leak from being disturbed .

do not use starting fluid. pull the line off from the fuel filter (line comming from the tank). put the line in a bucket and have someone turn the key a few times. if there is good flow replace the fuel filter, if not replace the fuel pump

Where is the fuel filter located on a 93 ford f150 xlt 5.8?

1990-94 ENGINES The filter, with these engines, is located amidships on the left frame rail. The filter should be changed either every 15,000 mi. (24,000 km), or 15 months, whichever comes first. The filter should also be changed whenever a fuel delivery module is replaced. CAUTION
To prevent siphoning of fuel from the tank when the filter is removed, raise and support the front end of the truck above the level of the tank.
  1. Relieve fuel system pressure. See Section 5. When working in hot weather, work quickly to complete filter replacement before the fuel pressure rebuilds!
  2. Unsnap the filter canister from the retaining clips.
  3. Disconnect the quick-connect couplings and remove the filter. WARNING
Be careful to avoid kinking the fuel lines! To install:
  4. Noting the direction-of-flow arrow on the new filter, connect the fuel lines.
  5. Snap the filter into the clips.
  6. Turn the ignition switch to RUN several times - without starting the engine - and check for leaks.

How to take the lines off the fuel filter efi its

You will need a Ford fuel line dis-connect tool to slip under the collar on the fuel line fitting to release the fitting from the fuel filter, and the tool is available at most auto part stores, here is an image of one, and let me know if you require any further assistance.
