I had a new battery put in my car now the radio only shows err Have tried, still cannot get it to work have a number 9 in the code how do I enter this

Does the radio work at all. or is the cd player the only issue.? most of the time you need to enter a radio code to unlock the radio. If you enter it wrong to many times it will display error on the display.if you dont know the code then you can call the dealership and get the code after you do the following below to get the serial number.
Press and hold 1 and 6 on the radio while still holding the 1 and 6 press the power button. At this time it will read off serial number

Furthermore, after 3 tries, it wont even accept the code on the radio display, showing the ERR condition. Check for a sticker with the radio code inside the glove box. Some dealers fixed a second sticker in the owners manual. If not available, get the code from a Honda dealer, and be prepared to show VIN number, and proof of vehicle ownership.When you get hold of the code, disconnect the battery for 15 min. This will erase the ERR condition, and allow you to introduce the reactivation code.

yes , open the compartment at passenger side. inside you will see a code. Shut off the radio and put the radio on , the screen will tell you code , put in that number and it will work

take it to an acura dealer and they can unlock the radio for you if you don't have the code.

If your radio is showing ERR instead of asking for the code you need to take your battery cable off for a few minutes and let the radio reset itself.  After you attach the cables back, the radio will ask for the code and you will just put it back in with the numbers that you use for your preset radio stations.  Thanks for rating my response and for using FixYa!

When you turn on the radio, it will say "codE" on the display. You have the 4-digit code number for your radio, to enter the first digit, press the "1" button on the radio the number of times until the first digit matches. For example, if your code is "2156" then, press radio preset button 1 two 2 times, then press radio preset button 2 one time, then radio preset button 3 five 5 times and finally preset button 4 six times.
THEN if the display is correct (should show 2156 in this example), press TAPE button. You should hear a beep and the radio should be working. If you make a mistake and enter a wrong code, the display will show "Err". You have 3 tries to get this correct or the radio may be toast. These are the steps for the stock radio in my 1995 GSX and they've worked for me each time I've lost battery power. Good luck!

ok your radio displays ERR , OK 3 options let it sit for an hour turned on , to reture to CODE display , or pull the radio fuse out for a minute and put it back in , returning to the CODE display , or disconnect the battery for a minute , returning to the CODE display . you got the ERR display because the code was wrong or not entered correctly , make your choice of getting the radio back to the CODE display by 1 of those 3 choices , while the radio displays CODE , use the preset buttons , if the first number of your code is 4 , then press the #1 preset button 4 time , when the first number has been input , put the 2nd number in by pressing the #2 prest button , if 2nd number of code is 8 , press the # 2 preset button 8 times till the # 8 is displayed , and so on . you see where this is giong ? when you have entered all the numbers correctly you will have you radio back . when you say you have the radio code , good luck ! were rooting for ya .

turn key to <acc> turn radio will blink err. leave on for at least half hour.err will be replaced by enter code.
