What is the average monthly maintenance cost for this car?

That is not a question that can be answered

Some people drive Hondas and Toyotas 120,000 miles
only changing the oil 3 times, then wonder why it has been
such a good vehicle until it quits. That is a true event, really

All vehicles vary or in your life time could average out about the same
monthly.
Too many variables. Most people do absolutely no preventative
maintenance. They wait until a problem comes up, then continue
on. Read the questions on this site. 90% have no idea what to do
about anything, on a motor vehicle or where to go to have it checked out.

I believe if you are not having your vehicle looked at 3 times a year and
spending $1000 per year/$83 per mo,your neglecting what it needs

Easy to say when you have been working on your own vehicles for 47 years.

You said maintenance,not fuel, insurance,etc.

I need a serpentine belt diagram for a 2003 honda crv

  1. Many owner-reviewers on the Edmunds automotive website gave the CR-V a reliability rating of 1 to 5 out of of 10, citing the vehicle's expensive maintenance after passing 75,000 miles. On the AutoBeef website, owners who reviewed the vehicle reported a variety of AC and heater, electrical, engine, suspension and transmission problems to be the main issues of the vehicle, with other problems reported.
  2. AC and Heater Problems
  3. The most numerous issue faced by CR-V owners, air conditioning and heater problems plague even low-mileage CR-Vs. Most owners report an end blowing off the AC compressor, at an average of 76,900 miles. Repairs cost an average of $2,660, but in some cases cost as much as $3,700.
  4. Electrical Problems
  5. CR-V owners also cite electrical problems, prominently to locking and window mechanisms and interior accessories. Reported everywhere from 45,000 miles to over 100,000 miles, owners say that the doors won't unlock with the factory remote, the keys won't unlock the car, and that cigarette lighters and window buttons fail. Average repair cost per issue came out to $250.
  6. Engine Problems
  7. Owners report irregular idle patterns, catalytic converter failure, oxygen sensor failure and excessive engine oil use in CR-V engines. Occurring under or around 100,000 miles, these problems average roughly $2,500 to correct.
  8. Suspension Problems
  9. The two most common suspension problems are cracked ball joints and misaligned struts, which can cause the vehicle to pull to one side. Most problems occurred between 60,000 and 100,000 miles, and cost $300 or more on average to repair.

What is the maintenance protocol on a 2007 Dodge Ram 3500? Does it require some special, expensive filter and fluid?

this requires any transmission fluid meeting the standard of ATF+4, it is about $3 per quart, the filter comes as a kit and is about $15 (USD), very average cost for late models, no matter the manufacturer

I have a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu & was side swiped a few months ago. After this accident my turn signals sometimes work & sometimes they don't. We have checked the fuses and the light bulbs & all...

Failure of the Multifunction Switch (Turn Signal Switch) is relatively common and will cause the lighting problems you are describing. This failure probably has absolutely nothing to do with the vehicle being side-swiped.

The warning chime going off could be caused by a bad door switch or a loose connection in the door wiring.

As far as replacing the vehicle, nobody can answer that question but you. Ask yourself these questions:

  1. Is the car paid for? If so, are you willing to bite off a monthly payment?
  2. Would a monthly payment be cheaper than the monthly average of what you are spending on this car?
  3. Does the anual cost of maintenance and repairs exceed the bluebook value of the car?
Do not count collision repair costs - you want an average of what the car is costing you "collision-free". (Collision repairs will run up the price of a brand new car as well, if you wreck it.)

Do add in any additional costs of providing insurance for a financed vehicle.(Usually as much as 2 times the cost of a car that is paid-for)

Make sure you look at the BIG picture before writing off your old car. It is almost always cheaper to maintain the old one than it is to buy a new one if the vehicle is being maintained properly.

Scheduled maintenance cost

most maintenance includes fluid change/or top off /grease job and a general inspection of vehicle. considering your in Alaska the cost is a lil higher there than in the lower 48. A fair estimate would be between 30 and 70 dollars

Maintenance costs

Oil change will cost about $200, tires? depends how and how much you drive and quality you buy. Guess you could spend $200 each. Brakes depend how much you drive but a quality brake job will cost about $1,000. As far as daily driver?well this car is not designed for that, and will probably suffer in stop and go traffic. So would need a tuneup about every 4-6 months at a cost of about $2,000. then you need a mechanic that is trained. Hope you can find one in your area.
