If the remote's battery has never been replaced, it's probably time now.
The type of battery employed in these has a 'shelf-life' of around 5 years so if yours hasn't been replaced, you are overdue.
As far as the failure of individual door locks to operate, the mechanism may have corrosion that is impeding their travel. Check the owner's manual, it may give information about freeing sticky locks.
If you don't have an owner's manual, I can recommend the Haynes service manuals. They cost ~$20-$30 US and can be had in most auto parts stores.
