1972 Chevelle drivers side air vent repair advice

Hi - My chevelle was stored in the winter and mice filled my air vent with bird seed and dog food. I'm looking to remove my side panel that contains the vent that is located near the park brake drivers foot area. I can't see any screws to remove it. I'm wondering if it just pops off and there are clips that are holding it on?

The panel is not carpeted. There is carpet on the floor. I looked everywhere but can't see any screw heads. Maybe I will pull up the carpet and take a look again. Thank you

If it is a carpeted panel there will be two for sure possibly three phillips head screws in the panel. two along the bottom. one at the rear and one by the door opening. and possibly one at the top by the door opening.

after viewing a customers 70 chevelle it appears to held in by the aluminum trim along the door channel. It has molded plastic retainers that push into the holes in the body. simply reach your hand behind and pull with your fingers as close to the retainers as possible and the panel will release.

1978 chevelle wiring diagram

Try your local library to see if they have a set of repair manuals. Some brands of manuals are: "Chilton's", "Motor's", and "Haynes".
You can also try a local car parts store, but often they may not have repair manuals that old.
Also, look around or advertise in your local "Thrifty Nickle" paper to see if anyone has a '78 Chevelle you could look at and record the wiring diagram.
God bless your efforts.

What year is this engine? and ci

From this chart - I think you may be misreading the number - 3970010 is possibly the actual number: Which makes the engine pretty old 68-72 350 V8 - 4 bolt main. I included past this number so that you can see that the number you posted doesn't actually exist. And thus my conclusion that the 9 is most likely a 0. Hope this helps. 3970010 350 69 Corvette late 69,4 bolt main 3970010 302 69 Camaro Z/28,Late 69, 4 bolt main 3970010 350 69-79 Truck 2&4 bolt main 3970010 350 69-79 Pass,Chevelle,Camaro,Nova,MonteCarlo 2&4 bolt main 3970010 350 70 Corvette 300,350,370 HP 4 bolt main 3970010 350 71 Corvette 270,330 HP 4 bolt main 3970010 350 72 Corvette 200,255 HP 4 bolt main 3970014 350 69-77 Pass,Chevelle,Camaro, Nova,MonteCarlo 2 or 4 bolt main 3970014 350 69-79 Truck 2 or 4 bolt main 3970014 350 72 Corvette late &undefined;72,200 HP,255HP 4 bolt main 3970020 307 68-73 Pass,Chevelle,Camro, Nova 3970020 307 69-73 Truck 3970024 307 69-73 Pass,Chevelle,Camro, Nova,Truck 3992386 327 68-69 Pass,Chevelle,Camro, Nova,Truck Large Jounal

Why is my 1972 chevelle voltage regulator make noise when you rev it up

If the battery is no good, then you will hear the alternator
hum all the time, trying to charge it

Check for diode problems & A/C Ripple on the circuit

Check all vehicle grounds (wires)

If the wiring is good & the light comes on, it isn't charging
properly,have you not metered that,voltage,amperage &
ripple

You can go through 3 alternators from the auto part chains, to
find a good one.

How to change wheel bearings on 1972 chevelle

The front ones are a bearing and race in the rotor the bearings will fall out when the rotor is removed and tipped or a screw driver maybe required to push them out as the grease may hold them some . Then the race can be punched out from the opposite side. and the new one can be gently tapped into place using the old one as a driver.

I have a 1972 chevelle ss 454. I have ordered factory lines, compressor, condenser, and accumulator and poa expansion valve for r12. I will change oil, poa, 150. what else needs to be done with factory...

Use pag oil with a dye. Helps finding leaks. Think you have everything you need. Put the dryer on last and keep it sealed to prevent mositure from getting in. Pump it down for at least an hour on a new system.

Some compressors come with a full charge of oil. Use the right amount of oil. Add to compressor and add a little to the dryer as well.

need some good votes, thanks

1972 chevelle starter trouble

Since you have replaced the starter motor with a higher torque one then the next approach that I would take would be to inspect the flywheel teeth. It sounds like maybe these teeth could be damaged or even missing. If this is the case it requires you to get a new flywheel.
