do you know where the fuse box is, or is the fuse just not in there? try under dash maybe behind plastic panel or even behind either kick panel or even under the hood

How do you remove cigarette lighter out of a 2003 Crown Victoria the one under the ashtray above the middle council?

Cigarette lighters are mounted either with a nut holding the unit from behind the mounting area or a slip on clamp. No sure why you are removing but if not replacing then you need to eliminate the power line as well

if you are replacing it because it does not work then, unless you have done this already, make sure the lighter has power to the unit. Many times the ptoblem is the heating element not the unit.

Cant get inspected bc of cigarette outlett is grounding out

The likely solution is replacement of the cigarette lighter assembly.

Had cell phone and computer plugged into dual cigarette lighter unit and cigarette lighter overheated and quit working - we checked the fuse - it seems fine.Just want the cigarette lighter socket to work...

More than likely overheated the wiring going to the lighter as well and burned it off. If you pull the lighter socket out you should see if it did. Simply solder it back on and be careful not to overload it again.

My cigarette lighter is not charging in my car what could it be?

You mean there seems to be no power to the vehicle's lighter unit outlet.

This lighter unit outlet is normally wired through its own fuse so check the fuse panel in the car for a blown fuse. If blown it must be replaced with a fuse of the correct amperage. The owner's manual will show you where the fuse is located.

Before you check the fuse just check the cigarette lighter outlet with another plug-in device if you have one such as a portable 12 volt tire compressor or a 12 volt plug-in auxiliary light. It could be that if you are using a charger from the outlet, the charger plug or wiring may be faulty rather than the car's power outlet itself. (These outlets don't usually give trouble unless the wiring has been messed with or the outlet itself has been damaged or abused).

If no device works from the lighter power outlet check the fuse as it may be blown.

How do i change 12v power / cigarette lighter! in a Peugoet 206

The cigarette lighter is connected to a harness that's being the unit. You need to most likely remove the panel that the cigarette lighter is attached to in order to remove the lighter unit out. Once the unit is out, disconnect the wiring harness to exchange it. I don't know how exactly your lighter will come out

Fuse blown on cigarette lighter Saturn 2001

It sounds like you have a bad charging cable for the GPS or the cable is overloading the cigarette lighter.

The cigarette lighter is designed for less power then a 12v power outlet.

Therefore it is easy to blow the fuse for the cigarette light if you install something that draws too much power.

Cigarette lighter does not work

first check the fuse, next, get a light tester and see if you getting power to the lighter unit. two wires to your cigarette lighter one black for - and red for +, if you getting power, your line is good that mean your cigarette lighter unit does does not have a good contact to what ever is plugging in. replace the unit; if no power to the unit, test the cigarette fuse and see if the wire is hot. if not you have a short to the fuse. hope that help some..good luck

Two years later and you solved my dead cigarette lighter. manual says fuse 35--but it did not say to check 38 on the left fuse box. Thanks--blown fuse and everything works. Thanks
