Replacing headlight uplander - 2005 Chevrolet Uplander

The headlights of your Chevrolet Uplander could be on. If the lights are out you may have had a headlight bulb fail. The headlights are located on either side of your licence plate and usually have a bright light on them indicating which side is forward.

Probably need to replace the multifunction switch.

Unplug the battery and turn your headlight switch on for ten minutes.Then hook up the battery and turn the headlights off

check the fuse .check you are getting power on the bulb holders

Take out 1bolt just above headlight that holds headlight in place.Then to the left of headlight there is a 6inch pin you have to turn clockwise 1/4 turn then pull up and out.Remove headlight,ther is enough wire to put it to the side while you change the left turn signal.When the headlight is out of the way you can see the wires for the turn signal,turn the plug counter clockwise and pull,you will see lightbulb,pull out and change.To install do the reverse in order.

I would either try reinserting the bulb 180 degrees to see if that makes a difference and or getting a new bulb. Another part number I have off of my Uplander is 12362LL. Both the low beam and high beam use the same bulb, so swapping them to troubleshoot might give you an idea as well. I would also inspect your light bulb socket to make sure the contacts are not burned.

have no product experiance of this model but i would say that in common with a lot of modern vehicles its easier to take the headlight out

You must reach around to the body of the headlight switch and feel for a small round dot about 1/8 inch in diameter. This button is spring loaded and pushes in as you pull on the lightswitch knob, then you must push it a second time to release the knob. Please make sure your battery is disconnected while performing this procedure for the headlights will stay on otherwise. Then remove the retaing collar at the center and the switch will pull "back" from the dash enough to remove the wiring harness. Thank you, Dana

if you have a owners manual its in there, if not there is a pin and a screw on top on headlight assm. you take out and assm. pulls out to access headlight and turn signal bulbs.
