You have to change it from under the car, there is two bolts that you have to loosen, Then there is a tensioner bolt you have to back that off until you can get the belt around the pulley once you have the belt around all the pulleys it needs to be around start to tighten the tensioner bolt until you can turn the belt about a 1/4 of a turn, Not to Tight Not to Loose, Then tighten the two remaining bolts to hold the belt tension, You should be all set. Hope That Helps You out and if not get back and I'll help You another way, TY Bear001

My 2000 Ford focus was making a grinding noise when driving the power stering went out and I look under the hood and the belt was loose what do I do... O battery light is now on.

sounds like your belt broke. replace with a new belt. battery light is on because the belt is not spinning the alternator. If it busted you should be able to pull it right out. Make sure to check the tensioner pulley, alternator pulley, power steering pump pulley and ac compressor pulley for free play(if you can make it spin with your hand it's good) and make sure that they're not binding or making any grinding noises. If the belt has never been replaced, then most likely it gave out.

Have power stering flued but no power stering

If power steering fluid is full, but the belt driven power steering pump's pulley doesn't turn at a good speed, then the power steering won't work properly. Check that the belt tensioner is providing enough belt tension for the power steering pump to do its job.

If the rack and pinion is bad, it may also cause a lack of power steering in your vehicle.

Good luck on this repair.

Power stering stopped working radiator overheated

You have a broken fan belt. Put the new one on according to the diagram under the hood. Replenish your radiator overfill reservoir and recheck it until all the air is purged from the system.

Stering pump ? for 1993 jeep cherokee 4.0 .

Loosen 2 pivot bolts on back of pump, 13mm. then loose one bolt on bottom/front. Turn adjustment bolt on right side/bottom of pump to loosen belt. Once belt if off, remove all of the bolts connection pump to engine bracket. Remove hoses going to pump. Install new one, filled up with fluid. Now you have to bleed air out of sys. Move steering wheel left/right to the stops. Do this about 10 times either direction.
