Question about 2000 Nissan Maxima
I hear a humming sound from my front suspesion i changed the back motor mount and both shock struts help me
This may be due to increased road noise transmission through the new struts.
Using an isolation washer (rubber) at the very top of the struts, (under the frame support) with a similar rubber washer under a steel washer with the strut fixing nuts should cure the problem.
This will isolate the springs from the car body, and reduce noise.
You don't even need to remove the hub for this - just use a pair of spring compressors.
A different tread pattern (using thicker bars, or angled grooves) on the tyres will also help eliminate this noise.
