It is a sensor. I'm not for sure what sensor it is but i think that it is towards the front of the car on the motor. My hyundai had the same problem when i bought it but have got it fixed now. Hope this helps.

1994 FORD TAURUS

Do you smell gasoline fuel ?? When there's too much fuel, it saturates the spark plugs, preventing ignition. Let it sit for an hour to let spark plugs dry, then it starts OK later. Next time, turn starter without giving any throttle or very small throttle as engine turns. Myself, when my 2006 Dodge Plymouth minivan (sitting in storage) needs to start, I squirt (half second) starting fluid into air filter, close the air filter housing to trap flammable gas from starting fluid, then turn the engine without pressing on throttle. When the engine starts is when I give it a little throttle to bring up the RPM to 2,000 until it idles on its own without stalling from cold engine.

When she cold she'll go when she hot she won't start, take a hour for her to cold down before starting

I had a car that did that to me, turned out to be the battery. It was getting old and needed replacing. You could clean the contacts for the battery as well, might help a little. My car ran for a hour or more but if I stopped and tried starting shortly after I was toast. Had to wait 45 min. or more to start. Hope this helps.

1993 toyota previa. car starts when cold, but if i drive car 4 a while and turn it off it wont start until i let it sit 4 a couple of hours.

Corroded positive battery terminal. Clean both the terminal and the battery post and tighten clamp bolt. Don't just tighten bolts. There's a layer of corrosion that conducts when cold/damp and gets warm during starting and charging, dries out, and then won't conduct.

2001 Volvo S60 2.4T starting problem

This car won't start unless the gear is in the P position. Some times the sensor that tells the computer that the gear is in the P position doesn't make a good contact and the car won't start. Move the gear backwards and forwards until it makes a good contact and the car will start again.

1999 Saturn SL1 trouble starting when warm

It was the coolant temperature sensor. It was telling the car that the coolant was always cold, therefore when starting a warm engine it was being flooded. $$$

Cold starting - engine stumbles

Change your engine coolant temp sensor and if the wiring is corroded at the sensor plug replace that to.

97 M3 chokes on clold start.

The E36 M3 is natorious for having some minor enigine hesitation immediately after a cold start. My car does this for about the first block both in the morning and after work. Its part of the engine management start routine: you will see this more specifically if you just start you car when its cold and let it idle. Initially you'll notice that the idle tone is a bit more rumbly and rough; but after about minute or so you'll notice that pitch changes and smoothes out. I was alarmed about this too, but after some research, I found it was a characteristic of the design. Just take it easy for the first block and you will never notice. Don't ever cold rev your engine. - Hope that helps.
