Im not sure but i thing there's 4 little nuts or screws on the plastic cover and then it pops right off.

I have a 2003 Dodge Neon se there's a major oil leak between the engine and transmission how do I fix this


Check that the oil leak is not engine oil coming out before the bell housing ( sump gasket) If the oil is coming out of the bell housing inspection cover then it means box put and either flywheel off for a rear main seal or torque converter out for a seal in the box or converter.. If it is a sump or rear main seal check the engine oil level first and the PCV valve operation as excessive oil level and sump pressure will cause the engine side problems that you can fix without removing the box.

I have an oil leak from the engine. what could the problem be


Check the sump gasket at the rear of the sump tension sump bolts. Check that the rocker cover gasket is not leaking down the back of the engine and giving the appearance of a sump leak. Rear crank seal would be another point of leak and front input shaft (clutch shaft) seal leaking. Check the engine oil level and correct if necessary and check gear box oil level and correct if necessary. If you have an auto the oil will be pinkish and indicates a torque converter to gear box seal leaking.. Either of the shaft seals will require the box removal for repair.

89 camry got water leaking from around water pump have taken out alternater and removed thermo cover cannot get the timing belt cover off because of engine mounts how do i get it off all bolts taken out.


Place a jack with suitable protection under sump so as not to damage sump and lift just a little to relieve just enough tension to remove through bolt onto body....Regards Johngee

Oil light comes on after 10 mins of driving. we have removed the sump pan and cleaned the oil pick up pipe but fault is still there so i want to replace the oil pump but i need to no the location and what...


If you did the sump drop; you should also do the PCV #6 upgrade. I would'nt look at the oil pump yet. You may have a bad oil sensor. Did you remove the valve cover to see what it looks like? you could have a clooged breather port. Did you do an engine flush before you dropped the sump? If you remove the VC start the engine to see if oil squirts out then you will know if the pump is good.

Does the oil pan have to be lowered to remove the timing chain cover on a 1997 Nissan pickup 2400 engine?


it does due to the sump gasket at the bottom but if you can carefully slide a cutter under the cover when all the bolts are out you may be lucky enough to not damage the gasket. if you do damage the sump gasket cut it back flush with the engine and apply a sealer like THREE BOND to the area to create a new liquid gasket. to do it correctly remove the sump

remove the cover thats under the engine and put an oil pan under the sump nut then remove the sump nut and let the oil fill your oil pan {make sure the oil pan can hold at least 5.5ltr of oil} then remove the oil filter its on the top of the engine inside a housing that has a big black plastic nut on it then fit your new filter put your sump nut back in and fill with oil untll your dip stick is reading full.

Suzuki h20a engine diagram is what i need as i need to change the stem seals but i just cant find it anywhere.tried halfords they have the manuals for all the other engines but nothing that covers the v6...


Engine diagram? You don't know what's involved in doing this job do you? This is MAJOR surgery! As the camshafts have to be removed, the timing cover has to be removed. As the rocker covers have to be removed, you will have to raise the inlet manifold. I say "raise" here, as if you want to remove the inlet manifold, you will have to remove the throttle body, and room will probably not let you do that (without removing the engine). As the timing cover has to be removed, the studs in it that go down through the sump will have to be removed - or remove the sump (which means removing the engine). If you're pulling all the timing gear off (to remove the cams), I would recommend replacing all the tensioners and chains while in there. OK, now you're ready to replace the valve stem seals. Remember, you'll have 24 of them to do. They are deeply recessed in the head and hard to get to. A little tool may have to be fabricated to pull the old ones off. The HVLAs (hydraulic valve lash adjusters) should be kept in their original positions, and stored under oil whilst you work elsewhere. Good luck. I have never had to do this job in-car - thankfully.

Removing a sump pan


you drain as much engine oil from them sump as you can by undoing the 13mm sump plug. you then undo all the bolts holding the sump onto the engine

hi all engine sumps have a drain plug and it is the lowest bolt on the bottom if you cannot find yours because there is a lower cover so you cannot see the sump you will find the cover will have a access cover that can be removed if not this would be unusuall to have to remove the engine cover cpmpletly best of luck yates210456
