Sounds like a problem with the air flow system. There should be a MAP sensor that needs to be cleaned. It may only need an air filter as sometimes bugs and dirt can build up inside the housing. Of course if it is a fuel problem and there is no fuel filter and anything is able to get through to the motor you may be giving your injectors a dirty beating that they don't deserve. Get a fuel filter on stat. If you've put new spark plugs and rotor on did you hapent to look at the distibutors points? They should have at least been cleaned and look nice and shiny. Did you gap those plug to specification? There are quite a few things that can cause your particular problems... Wires play big rolls also....

I have a 1997 mazda rustler 160i when the motor is hot or just standing in the sun its does not start in the morning and evening its starts no problem only when hot has this problem what can it be

An ignition coil is more than likely your problem. When the car is not running pull one spark plug wire and a plug and insert plug into the wire hold plug end on ground area. Have someone crank engine and check for spark. If no spark, replace ignition coil.

Fuel does not come from the tank on amazda rustler bakkie 160i 2001 model hence the car cannot start

Either your fuel pump has died, make sure you check all fuses and wiring for shorts, or the screen on the pump is clogged and needs to be cleaned. Most likely the pump needs replaced and the t ank will have to be lowered to acces the pump.

Where do i get fuel pump in mazda rustler 160i

fuel pump located inside petrol tank,
you have to remove the fuel tank, only 4 bolts, and a few pipes.
befor doing so, check fuel pump relay located in the middle of dashboard on the floor(horse shoe type plastic cover)

Hi Gerrie1974-

WildBill49 here......Not knowing the specific year and version of your Mazda, I cannot give you a specific part at fault, but I can help you. I am assuming we're talking about an electronic distributor single coil ignition system

If the spark is weak directly out of the coil (with a known good coil hooked up with correect polarity), then the problem is in the spark trigger module... There is a variety of designs, but the basic components remain the same. This is the part of the ignition system that replaces the breaker points. It consists of two parts - a magnetic spark trigger sensor, and a spark signal amplifier/controller. these are sometimes combined into one ignition module.

Replace this module, and spark from the coil should be strong! If it is still weak, reverse the two wires to the coil.

Weak spark at the plug wire with the above good indicates distributor cap/rotor replacement time...

Gerrie, I hope this is what you are looking for, best of luck, and if you feel my advice worthy, please rate it!!!

Thanx-
-WB
