Tail lights work but why don't license plate lights?

The license plate lights have their own separate bulbs. If you are able to replace the bulbs, that may solve your problem. If not, you may have a loose or rusted connection to the plate bulbs only. If you are able to gain access, you may want to check the condition of the harness that supplies the power to the license plate portion. Good luck and have a great day.

Can not get the broken tail light out of my rav4 2002

Tail light assembly or just the light bulb?
There may be 10 mm nuts holding the light assembly to the car.
Usually 2 or 3 nuts hold in the assembly.
Small panel out should gain you access to the bulbs.

How to remove tail light assembly to replace tail light bulb

HI, I suggest from inside, remove a panel to gain access to bulbs ,do not think you would have to remove assembly. Clean contacts while your there.

How do you access the outside tail light to change the bulb on a 2008 Hyundai Sante Fe?

You can access the bulb by going to the rear of the car and removing the internal side panels at the opposite side of each tail light. You should see the covering and the socket for the light which you need to remove to gain access to the bulb.

How do I replace the Rear Brake light bulb of 2001 Toyota Sienna?

I have a 2001 Sienna and have had to replace most of my tail light bulbs.

The bulbs that are mounted in the fender (wrap arounds) have acess panels in the van's interior that easily pop out and expose the back of the light assembly.

However, the bulbs that are found in the lift gate are a different matter. You have to remove the whole interior panel to the lift gate to expose the light assemblies. Go to your auto parts store and get a tool to help pop out the plastic retainers from the lift gates metal frame. Don't force the retainers out. Go slowly and gently so that you don't damage the interior panel. If you are really gentle you might even get to reuse the retainers.

Good luck!

If you're referring to the bulbs, there is an acess panel you have to remove in the inside of the trunk.
