My 2006 sonato doesn't want to accelerate when i step on the gas like it used to.

run fault codes and check for accelerator position sensor problem. Some engine lights do not activate for small sensor problems -just those that will cause damage to the engine and gear box.

Will not run if it starts as soon as you let of the gas it dyes may start and may not

To understand the problem with your car, you must first understand that when you are pressing down on the accelerator pedal with your foot, you are NOT "stepping on the GAS". You are actually stepping on the AIR. If you are having to open the accelerator in order to get the engine started, it is because the engine is not getting enough air to start on it's own. When you let up on the accelerator, you are shutting off the air.
It is the job of the Idle Air Control (IAC) solenoid (or motor) to allow enough air into the engine so the engine can idle when the accelerator is closed.

You MOST LIKELY have a bad IAC.

Shuts off when its hot and usually after fueling up.............acts like its not getting fuel....................usually after fueling up when car is hot............leave the car sitting for a couple...

I would replace the crank sensor and never pack fuel into your gas tank. First click when full stop pumping gas. Next time it does this pour or spray some water on the crank sensor and see if it will start, if so problem solved.

My 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo is starting to have a ''slight'' hesitation after I shut it off and re-start it again. WHen I accelerate at first it hesitates a bit. I let off the gas for a few seconds...

A slight hesitation after engine shut off due to engine running rich meaning not meeting golden air:gas ratio of 14.6:1 so fuel residue in chamber continue to burn for the last moment. The same rich fuel problem that was why you had to let gas off during acceleration. Need to Check out the O2 sensor Check out MAP sensor Good luck

Engine shutting down, where is the location of the igiation modle

Can't remember if it's on the firewall or left fender...Its a square box with a (i think) six wire connector in the center. However, before changing that, check the white ceramic resistor on the firewall or fender for continuity and also test the pickup in the distributor.

Car takes a few seconds to start & shuts off immediately

how old is your battery? because if it is weak the idle air control solenoid will not sit in the right location thus the vehicle will stall and wont stay running .replacing a weak battery will fix this problem .
