First go here: https://vinrcl.safercar.gov/vin/ Check to see if there is a recall on the car. Then if there is not, you have to figure out if there is a sensor or the bag itself is bad. This can be expensive.
THE PROBLEM IS YOUR AIRBAG MODULE (computer) it is pretty expensive to fix since it needs to be replaced. Around $500 prolly more unless you know someone. Airbags won't go off randomly. But they prolly won't work when they are supposed to.
Has it ever been wrecked? Mine was and the shop that fixed it forgot to put the airbag sensor in the bumper...apparently this is needed to make the light go off...hope this helps.
Sorry here but the fault code isnt aligning up with either the generic codes or the manufacturers codes ,so try the wiring connections under the front seats and rub them with a soft lead pencil and see what happens but as this is a 2006 model this airbag software used on this vehicle is encrypted so its a dealer only type job with all the expense that entails
Hi. this is a common issue for this car. this could be a problem with he seatbelt clip or a sensor in the seat cushion. Only way to resolved the issue is to have hyundai technician reset the chip.
The crankshaft sensor determines when to fire the plugs; if it has failed, no plugs will fire.
If you have no mechanic friends who know how to test this sensor, you should probably invest in an aftermarket service manual.
They have simple tests for most sensors and conditions that don't require costly equipment or detailed knowledge.
I prefer Haynes and they are available on line here:
Haynes Sonata Manual
You may also find them elsewhere for a few dollars less.
