Question about 1994 Subaru Legacy Outdoor

1 Answer

Where can I find a power window harness diagram for a 1994 Subaru Legacy.

I need to reconnect the rear driver's side power window switch harness in my 1994 Subaru Legacy. I previously reconnected it and was able to roll the window up and down, but the switch quickly became hot, suggesting it wasn't properly grounded. I've tried to find a diagram that displays the proper location of wires in the harness but have been unable to find one. I've looked in the service manual but didn't find a wiring diagram for the window switch. Any suggestions on where I might find one?

Specifically I'm trying to identify the wire on the spark plug coil assembly to which I should connect the signal wire of a Tachometer to. The wire colours are, red, yellow, green/white, and blue.

It says the tachometer wire is Yellow/Green, you do not have that listed. You will find it in the list below, it is highlighted..

do any other windows work?
do they work from the drivers switch panel?
if they do, then power is likely to be present to the switch.
if the driver and pass. switches are interchangeable, try swapping them.
if all windows are dead, look for blown fuse first, then check switch and the socket/wiring harness connected to the switch.
smell the switch, if it smells burnt, it probably is...

1995 subaru legacy L wagon. drivers side master power window switch stopped working. others work fine. how do I track down the exact problem. it's not a fuse.

You just did. Its the master switch. Buy a switch from a large parts store, use a flat tip screwdriver to remove switch then install new switch. This should take you about 20 mins. Super Easy

92 Subaru Legacy Power Windows Don't Work

I have a 92 that did the same. After checking fuses and the relay(located under drivers seat) I discovered that the power windows control module on drivers door was bad. Went to a salvage and bought a used for $40, pulled the door panel, unscrewed and unplugged the old one, put in the used one and everything worked fine. About a week later, the passenger side motor went out and replaced that with a used power window motor. All windows now work fine.
