Fuel issue When the car first starts in the morning, it stutters and takes a bit to warm up, almost like gunk in the fuel filter. This has been going on for months, changed fuel filter. minor improvement. Now car will only travel at 15-27 mph, after several miles it may break wide open and go for a few miles at 70 then it slows itself down to 25 again...help

Either has the common plastic intake leak or faulty mass air flow sensor by air filter, cost $25 used so the best place to start and make sure you do not have any loose connections or cracks in air intake hoses

What could cause the car to stutter when under load going up hill.

It sounds to me like a passing gear issue. Or even and Over Drive issue. Try this to find out. When you put the car in gear, instead of O/D, try regular drive. If you have a push button O/D then deactivate it. If you only have Drive, then try shifting into 3. Run the car up to the same speeds you were having problems with. If you don't have the issues with the higher RPM's then it is an Overdrive/Highway gear issue. If it still stutters, then it could be a fuel delivery issue. Good luck.

Stuttering in idele and acceleration

Has the fuel tank been low lately? How cold where you are? Add 2 bottles of fuel "Heat" to the gas tank, and be sure to fill up...and keep fuel level above 1/4. Hope this helps.

What make one die after the moter gets warm and will not start back for a wile

Check your fuel filter, as gunk from your tank may be blocking the flow. If some gunk is picked up and filtered out, the gunk falls to the bottom of the filter, allowing some flow. eventually due to increased fuel pressure, the gunk will migrate to the outlet side of the filter blocking more fuel, and eventually blocking all fuel. When it cuts off the gunk will once again settle out and allow some fuel to flow again, starting the cycle again. Replace the filter.

Check ignition timing, timing chain, fuel filter and fuel pressure after you change it. ( if the filter doesn't solve it)

1992 chevrolet lumina that cuts off sometimes won't start acts like it has trash in the line. It has new fuel filter, tune up, core pads, plugs and wires.

I hade the same problem, but I figured it out, My car is a 1992 chevey lumina Base modle sadan, v6/3.1L This car is electricly based, regardless of your problem replace all Fuses and Relays your fule injection, heater cor, every thing. trust me.

MY CAR PROBLEM: car would stutter and want to die every time I came to a stop, or slowed down. When I start the car it would idle really high, when I shift in to drive it would go back to normal, for a little bit. I checked my electrical center located on passenger side under the hood. I found that my fule pump relay had blown out. this is the main reason for fule pump going out. theas fuses are the real thing that makes this car run. replace them all. thay are like 20.00 dollars a pop but it will save you hundreds.

SECOND: bought a bottle of fule injection cleaner. spray this into your throttle body, connected to the air filter. lots of gunk. after that car stopped stuttering and has not died yet. I did my maintance on 7/15/08

good place to start. good luck
