I have and airbag light on and the mechanic tells me I need a clock spring which goes in the steering wheel, have you heard of this part also I have and evp code and he tellm me I need a vent soloniod, are these the correct parts name.

- I JUST REPLACED THE EVAPORATOR IN MY BMW 323 I CONVERTIBLE, HAD TO REMOVE THE DASH, I PUT EVERYTHING TOGETHER AFTER THE BATTERY WAS DISCONNECTED FOR 10 DAYS NOW THE VEH WILL NOT CRANCKED, ALL THE DASH LIGHTS ARE ON BUT NO CRANK THE KEY IMMOBILIZER IS AROUND THE SWITCH AND IS HOOKED UP, ANY IDEAS? - HERRVAL01Solution #1

I'm not sure if yours is an E36 or an E46 model.
On the E46 a common AIR BAG error light is caused by the stretching of a cable underneath the driver's seat when it is slid back and forth (usually when vehicle is shared by different height drivers!).
Unfortunately the solution is replacing this cable (quite cheap), then having the code read and extinguished by a code reader at Bmw (-expensive hourly rates though).
Some other places have code readers like vehicle electrics/alarms specialist -but the cable is still needed to be replaced first (2 min job) -I think ebay has one at the moment (but compare prices with Bmw Dealer parts prices first).
