WE HAVE A 1998 DIESEL RANGE ROVER WHEN WE GET IN THE CAR AND PUT THE CENTRAL LOCKING ON FROM THE DRIVERS SIDE THE PASSENGER BUTTON WILL NOT GO DOWN. TO LOCK THE PASSENGER DOOR WE HAVE TO MANUALLY PUSH THE BUTTON DOWN. NOW THE ALARM KEEPS GOING OF INTERMITTENTLY AND IT IS DRAINING THE BATTERY. OUR NEIGHBOUR HAS THE SAME THE PROBLEM ALTHOUGH HIS IS PETROL BUT THE SAME YEAR.

HOW DO WE RECTIFY THIS?

-   I have a 1999 Range Rover and i have exactly the same problem My remote also not working any more. I have to manually pusk the lock on passenger side and then lock the doorsusing the key.
The dealer told me I need to replace the /lock latch to fix the problem.
If anybody know how to fix the remote please let me know. I already paid $1500 to delaer and and have not been to fix it. Now they tell me I need to replace the computer and spend over $2000. -   Guest

-   It doesn't matter if I use the remote or valet key.The alarm goes off intermittently. The code says I have a sensation that is on the ferry. I don't ride a ferry. -   kmnewportizz

-   On my 2001 A6 2.7, the left rear passenger lock does not lock or unlock through either the speed sensitive auto locking nor when I depress the electronic switch on the front drivers door or the key fob. Periodically, none of the locks work electronically and the courtesy lights remain on, until I stop the car and lock the door manually with the key. This resets the electronic locking but still does not enable electronic locking on the left rear door. Any suggestions?-   todd2

Check your remote batteries.Listen for any sounds coming from the passenger door lock when operating the drivers door switch. The lock could be faulty.Have a diagnostic check done at a dealer to tell you whats wrong , this is normally free , before stripping anything..
