On my 2001 A6 2.7, the left rear passenger lock does not lock or unlock through either the speed sensitive auto locking nor when I depress the electronic switch on the front drivers door or the key fob. Periodically, none of the locks work electronically and the courtesy lights remain on, until I stop the car and lock the door manually with the key. This resets the electronic locking but still does not enable electronic locking on the left rear door. Any suggestions?

It doesn't matter if I use the remote or valet key.The alarm goes off intermittently. The code says I have a sensation that is on the ferry. I don't ride a ferry.

I have a 1999 Range Rover and i have exactly the same problem My remote also not working any more. I have to manually pusk the lock on passenger side and then lock the doorsusing the key.
The dealer told me I need to replace the /lock latch to fix the problem.
If anybody know how to fix the remote please let me know. I already paid $1500 to delaer and and have not been to fix it. Now they tell me I need to replace the computer and spend over $2000.

Check your remote batteries.Listen for any sounds coming from the passenger door lock when operating the drivers door switch. The lock could be faulty.Have a diagnostic check done at a dealer to tell you whats wrong , this is normally free , before stripping anything..

Just bought r reg (1997) hyundai accent 1.3 the central locking dos'nt work and also just found out no fuse in abs in the fuse box please help

without havin a quick look i couldnt say about the central locking but my main suspect would be the drivers door lock ,its all integrated into the lock mechanism but sometimes i get them to work with a bit of a switch cleaner spray ,other times its the where the wires run through the rubber shroud from teh door to the door pillar,as for the abs well thats simple its just a case of isolating the fault on one of the sensors on the wheels ,they use a magnetic paint sort of stuff on the back of the wheel bearings and it can get damaged or corrode off on a uk reg vehicle .just myself a new car as well yesterday a 1998 rover 400 top of the range turbo diesel everything in fact for 150 euros UK reg so it will be given a proper service then my daughter can fly over and pick it up .Well pleased a much better buy that a hyundai as they are cheaply built and do suffer from problems you describe including a gearlever thats moves everywhere and collapsing seats plus a dash that warps and cracks .Pity about rover though as such a good quality build of car

Land rover discovery central locking.

No, likely to be caused by the actuators in the lock mechanism failing usually causing the door to remain locked. The boor door can also fail this way, as do the front side doors. Replacement requires the whole lock unit to be replaced at a cost of roughly £60 a lock, and a hours work. Helps if you have small hands. Requires a full strip down of the door and you will need the lock unit, trim clips (a few quid) and a trim removal tool (tenner). You can bodge with a flat head screwdriver, but the tool does help prevent damage to the clips & trim panel.

Front passenger door will not open 1998 Tercel

If the passenger door has not been opened for some weeks or months, or in icy weather, it is possible that the rubber seals around the door frame will cause the door to appear 'stuck' fast - in this case, a bit of extra force from inside the car whilst pulling on the interior door handle should cause the door to open. Failing that, if the car has electrically operated central locking, when the key fob is pressed to deactivate the central locking does the door lock on the passenger side work as expected? Try unlocking the passenger door with a key, and or pull the door lock button upwards to ensure that the lock has been deactivated. Check for blown fuses.

It may be set in the main menu to lock only by the fob. I know on GMC's there are about 7 different locking options. I'm not a specialist in Land Rovers but the cheapest way out is to check all your options on the dash/steering wheel buttons.
