Hi,

You need to check your radiator, hoses and pump for leaks. It is very important you do not run the engine out of coolant as you will cook the engine which will require very expensive repairs.

The smoke may be the coolant spraying onto the exhaust manifold and evaporating.

Please check and advise.

Best regards,

David

Antifreeze leaking from engine on 2001 ford focus

It sounds like you have a blown head gasket, check your engine oil, take off your oil cap and if it is frothy around the cap and inside the head, you have a blown head gasket.

I started the car and saw white smoke everywhere, it dumped a lot of what looked like transmission fluid, what happened?

White smoke is usually antifreeze, There is now a red color antifreeze, maybe that is what you are seeing.. Pressure test the cooling system and resolve what that test reveals.

Leaking antifreeze

could be from numerous locations or just a hose, water pump freeze plug ,you will need to look for antifreez leaks on the floor to get general location of leak, and then try to pin point for external leaks ,leaks under pressure can be confusing, they will beharder to pinpoint, sinse they spray coolant everywhere.

Engine misfire

White smoke usually indicated it's burning antifreeze. Check your antifreeze level and oil condition before anything.

Antifreeze pipe burst & ANTIFREEZE IS ALL OVER THE ENGINE

you may have antifreeze in your electrics, in some cases it can turn acidic. and cause electrical faults, if you have a leak and it goes everywhere you need to flush the hole area with water to clean it off, it can even remove paint is some cases depending on the type you have put in the water system. all your wiring will need to be check and cleaned, remove battery when doing this. as you dont want to short out the battery with water.
