Question about 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan
This started about a month or 2 ago. I will start my van and it will dye right down this will happen about 3-4 times and than it won't turn over at all. You will have power for everything else. I noticed a little red light above the tach. meter will come on and than you know it will not turn over. You let it set for a few hours and it will start right up and run fine for awhile and than it will start up all over a again. Now it seems to ber happening more and more often. I've had it back and forth to the garage the last 4 weeks and they cannot seem to locate the problem. It is now back in the in the garage and I am still to hear. Can you Help me please.
This sounds like a (sentry key system) problem. These vehicles have a chip in the head of the key (grey headed key) and a skim module ( this is the halo that's around the ignition cylinder with a little square module hooked to it). If either the chip in the key or the module is malfunctioning, the vehicle will start for only a few seconds and stop. It will do this for up to 3 attempts and then it won't allow your vehicle to turn over for about an hour. I would try a different key (be sure it has a grey head) first.

Check the ASD relay. The ASD relay is the automatic shutdown relay and will cause the van not to start.
