Dodge durango 1999 sound front end

Hello

I have a 99 dodge durango. On thursday at a gas station, it started making grinding noises only in parking gear. When you take it out of park it is ok. It has a rebuilt transmission. Any possiblities on what it is? Some are telling me transmission but my boyfriend thinks that the bolts are loose. He trying checking it out but says there is an inspection pan that he cant get into, does that sound correct?

Thank you
Kimberly

Why is my dodge sounding like its scrubbing metal from the back.

probably find that the park brake pads are worn out and the metal grinding and the slow take of are from the metal parts running on the disc rotor or if drums the shoes are worn out.

Pound ticking noise when my 99 durango starts goes away after the engine warms up

The ticking noise could be a faulty hydrulic valve lifter. When last was the oil & filter changed, it coul be that the oil is thick and not going through to the lifters and when it warms up the oil is thin. It could be that the engine is need of an overhaul as 148.000 miles is 238.182 Kilometers and that is a hi milage.

I have a 1999 dodge durango 4x4 im having an issue with a grinding noise comming from the front of the vehical,im not sure if its the front diff. or half shaft or the transmission

SOUNDS LIKE A TRANSFER CASE ISSUE. DODGE HAS USED A FEW DIFFERENT TRANSFER CASES NVGS TO THE BW'S BUT HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBS, JUNK, THE NOISE THE JUMPING WHICH WE CALL BINDING IS ALL COMMON ISSUES. IT CAN BE A ADJUSTMENT ISSUE SO CHECK THAT FIRST BUT INTERNAL ISSUES ARE COMMON AS WELL.HOPE THAT HELPS

I have a 99 durango. it makes a grinding noise in the front end. if i just lay my foot on the brake pedal it stops. I have replaced the wheel bearing on both sides and checked the differential bearin

check to see how much pad is on the break pads also remove the rust around the disk as this some times catches on the pads making a scraping noise hope this helps ivan

I have a similar problem

The sound could be related to the universal joint/s.
Or otherwise known as 'constant velocity' joints.

When you step on the gas the 99 durango doesnt move

i would check the fluid in the transmission and the drive axles and to also make sure you do not have the parking brakes on and you do not have a calipers hanging up on one of the wheels
