SOURCE: radio unlock code

try taking the unit out. there is a sticker on it with a serial number
call your dealer and tell them that you need a code " service department "
they will ask for the serial number on the radio
once you give the serial number they will look it up and give you the code
do not try to put a " random " code this will lock your radio and you will have to unlock it before putting the code in it.
if the screen shows " code " you are fine, just get the code and voile.
if your screen shows " waiting " the radio is locked up and i will assis you on that matter once you get the code.

Radio says lock on my 1999 chevy blazer

You can try to download a PDF version ( GM.com or CHEVROLET.com) and even order cd or paper version if they still offer it (10 years old), but it may or may not contain the info you need to unlock the system. There are two versions of this security system, one can be programed using the radio buttons or a scanner the second is scanner only.Wish I could have been more help.Thank's in advance for rating me !

I once took off the factory radio from my s10 99 chev blazer... to install an MP3 player... Then I sold the Mp3 player and had to reinstall the factory radio back on my blazer... It asked me for a code... and I didn't know where to find it... So I entered the year of my truck "1999" and it unlocked it. Try entering the Year of the model! It should work.
