Engine still runs after turning key to off position

You would need to find out if the coil is connected to a power source other than the ignition key switch. Could be a wire on the wrong terminal of the starter solenoid.

Ingnition problem

Sounds like it could be the switch, you can bypass the ignition switch and touch the two positive wires together from the solenoid to see if it cranks over. Be very careful make sure it is in not in gear.

1966 mustang 289. won't start, jumped across solenoid, started. Replaced solenoid-starter wouldn't disengage, replaced starter, back to square 1, jumping across solenoid to start - whats my...

Ignition problem... No signal from ignition to solenoid...run a starter draw test to confirm starter is ok --- You can run your jump wires to a remote starter button or switch to get around it for now.

I hope this helps.

I need to remove the entire ignition assembly from my 1966 Ford F100. The ignition switch is in the dash board and I do not how to remove the back portion under the dash So I can re-wire it

the wires/plug should just pull off, there may be a latch on the plug to keep it form just 'falling" off. . If you insert the key, then take a paper clip and insert it into the hole, turn the key/cylinder will come out, then you can unscrew the ring and take out the switch.

I have a 1966 Mustang. 200 six cyl, auto. PROBLEM will not start no spark, replaced coil, ign switch, voltage regulator, plug wires, dist cap, electronic ign. still no spark Help. drove her 2 weeks ago run...

Check to see if you have Power at the coil when the ignition is in the run position. Try to put the points on High cam so the points do not burn when you do this test. Also see if your Rotor is turning. You could have a broken timing chain or sheared off a Drive pin in the Distributor gear.

Check your Polarity at the coil. I do not see a new condenser as a replaced part, try a new one. Would be interested in knowing what you found.

Replace ignition switch - core is removable and can be transferred to new switch so you don't have to rekey.
