Question about 2002 Audi A4
I have a 2002 1.8t audi a4, whilst driving today the car suddenly lost power, nothing happened when i put foot down on accelerater, until i changed gear, when it picked up power again, looking through forums i have gathered that it could be a problem with mass airflow meter, however i can't find it under the bonnet at all, so i need to know where to find it so i can find part number to order.
My car stop but before it did it read that my massive air flow sensor and spark plug 4 was going out.. I took it to a transmission clinic which stated a need a new engine .. Do I need a second opinion

It is fitted to the air filter outlet hose (the one which goes from the air filter to the turbo) and it is quite literally right next to the air filter. It has a wiring plug to it.
