It depends on where the leak is coming from.more info are required - include the Make, Model, Year of the vehicle, along with which engine is in it, if it's an automatic or manual transmission, and where the leak is coming from. Then people might be able to make a better guess as to what might be happening.

unfortunately sometimes when you get the engine or transmission flushed it can cause an oil leak I don't know what it will cost but I would be getting other quotes & get the work done at the cheapest quote, it pays to shop around........hope this helps......cheers.

I have a 2000 beetle turbo and just notices it is leaking oil from around the plug which is tight and seeping transmission fluid. Is this going to be a costly fix?

OIL LEAK AROUND THE SPARKS PLUGS COULD BE LEAKING VALVE COVER GASKETS ALLOWING OIL TO SEEP BY GASKET FLOW DOWN AROUND SPARK PLUGS.TRANSMISSION LEAK IS NOT VERY EXPENSIVE LONG AS TORQUE CONVERTER SHAFT SEAL NOT LEAKING WHICH TRANSMISSION HAS TO DROPPED OUT TO REPLACE SHAFT SEAL.IF TRANSMISSION LEAK AROUND FRONT AXLE SEAL IT MAY COST A LITTLE.BUT PAN GASKET LEAK OR OIL COOLER LINES WONT COST TOO MUCH NOT HARD TO GET TO REPAIR.PHONE AROUND GET PRICE CHECKS.

My 2004 altima is consuming oil at an excessive rate, there are no visible leaks on pavement. When I took it to the dealer they told me it would take a few days to find where the leak is and cost $250. ...

Hello! Sounds like a ride to me...Since you do not see any oil on the pavement, and it's using oil at an excessive rate, I would believe you would see blue or black smoke coming out of the tail pipe...
let me know if you do...Also, does the engine run normally?...No hesitation,or rough idle?...A plugged Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve will cause an engine to consume oil...See photos below...
First is for a 2.5L and second a 3.5L...Both cost around $10...Guru.....saailer

Lots of oil leaking under the Jeep. Down to no oil right now. Rainbow trail, etc. Want to know worst case scenario...ballpark cost to fix, etc.

Could be a simple fix. Have you found where the oil is leaking from? I had a 93 Grand Cherokee that was leaking oil badly and I found it to be the oil pressure switch that was leaking all that oil. It only cost a few dollars to fix. Check exactly what is leaking first to determine what it will cost.

Oil level is full but the oil light stays on,rev up the rpm and it goes out but it seems to need more and more rpm to go out.Any sugestions would be awesome. Thanks

Generally the oil light indicates oil pressure is low and not the oil level, but not always. My car does say the oil is low. If you know it is a low level indication then this suggests a bad sensor. If it is the pressure than it is either the oil pump or the oil pressure sensor. If the oil pressure sensor is bad there is usually oil leaking around the sensor where the wire is attached. The sensor is somewhere on the side of the engine block. You may have to get underneath the car to find it.

surely you mean a water leak from the radiator??
it is a simple fix,but pricey for parts,if its the radiator,
ask for a pressure test before any work to ascertain exact leak area.

Oil leak and orange oil light stays on briefly after starting up, also slight water leak. i suspected head gasket at first but eliminated that after the combination of these two faults causing fluid loss....

why eliminate head gasket? head gasket failure can cause loss of both fluids. i suspect the oil light is lost oil pressure because the head gasket is toast or the head is now warpped and thus leaking. you should be able to see signs of leakage around the head.

do you see any oil getting into your rad? if not then the oil must be leaking around the head.

Oil leaking around or near the oil filter

Might have to take the filter off wipe the O-ring thats on the filter clean and the area where the filter will be going on to the block. Probably has some dirt where the filter seats on the block.

Cost to fix oil leak

autozone and oreillys have oil leak sop additives. what these do is make the seals expand and seal off the leak. i would try this first.
