If it is an alloy wheel ,it may be stuck around the hub where the wheel is placed.sometime there is rust around the hub thus preventing the wheel from coming out.So you have to slightly kick the wheel tyre from behind hardly and it will come out and if necessary a bit hard. Thanks

How do I change a tire on 2010 Routan?

place the hand brake on firmly--chock other wheels . loosen off the wheel nuts . jack the vehicle up finish removing the wheel nuts . pull the wheel of the studs . fit replacement spare wheel onto studs . do wheel nuts up as tight as possible . lower jack so that the wheel is on the ground . finish tightening the wheel nuts . Replace the jack and wrench in the boot along with the flat tyre . Take the flat tyre to a tyre shop for a puncture repair and have it fixed immediately. Most "people" leave the repair to a later time when they will need a spare that they do not have .The tyre change process is fully described in the owners hand book for your vehicle.

Tip

Removing a 'stuck-on' road wheel

It's dark, it's raining and you have a puncture and you can't get that punctured wheel and tyre off the hub! When you try pulling on the wheel/tyre, the vehicle almost falls off the jack and that could be dangerous. Best thing to do is find a hard piece of wood, about one and half meters in length, turn the steering wheel fully until the front of the wheel and tyre are exposed and then strike the inside rim of the wheel firmly with the wood - you'll find the wheel becomes free. Straighten the wheels and place replacement wheel and tyre on the hub. Scottech.

I have a 2001 ford escort zx2 and it seems as if the front wheels wobble at speed at or under 30 mph. The faster you go the wobble disappears. Is this the wheel bearing, loose lug nuts, or u-joint?

If the wobble is very noticeable at low speed I would first suspect the tyre or tyres. Start by changing each front tyre with the spare and see if that affects the symptoms.
I am assuming that you have checked that the wheel nuts are not loose?
I hope I have been of help but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.

Rubbing coming from front passenger side tire?

I presume that the tyre you have replaced is with the same specification size as on the either side, If so you need to check if the tyre is rubbing against the mudflaps or the mudguard specially when the side is loaded or the wheel is turned to one side. Lift up the side with a jack, turn the wheel to either side and check if there is enough gap on the sides. If you had replaced the tyre after a burst/puncture, had run the car after this had happened, then the wheel alignment must be looked in specially for the tow in/ out. Check for the wheel position using a thread held against the rear wheel and the front wheel postioned with a slight inner view, check the wheel from the top to bottom with a plumline. You will get some indication if there had been any shift in the chassis or the suspension. press down the side up and down to hear any creaking, if so check on your suspension parts, the lower arm, the roll bars and the strut/ shock absorbers. You have the problem lurking around here. Hope my advice helps you out. Good luck good day

How do I take out the spare tire from under the ford explorer?

hi from uk if the spare tyre is fitted/secured under the rear end of car on a cradle?? then to remove it open rear hatch lift carpet up near to the rear cross member that hatch closes onto you should see a bolt head in a dished hole ? this bolt head is same size as wheel nut brace of your car so using the wheel brace turn the bolt anticlockwise as you would to unlock wheel nuts? you will have to turn for a while as this bolt is hooked to the tyre cradle you will see tyre lower as you turn when lowered fully to its stup ? you then lift cradle+tyre up enough to unhook bolt hook from cradle to reinstall is reverse operation to above till bolt tightens with tyre loaded WARNING! do not drive vehicle without a tyre loaded on cradle and secured as to simply rehook and secure bolt is not sufficient and the cradle WILL jump off when on rough road as well as an annoying rattle from loose cradle hope this helps

I need to change my tyre on mitsubishi space wagon and as a typical woman cannot find how to release spare from under car help please

I'm not sure about your car, but most have a thing sticking through the rear bumper. You stick your wheel wrench in that hole, and turn it counterclock wise to unwind the cable, and release the tire. Let me know if this isn't it, and i'll do some research.

Lost locking weel nut with a puncture how do i change it???

Depending on locking nut type.
If it's like mine, having a recessed "clover leaf channel" then you can only weld something to it like a bolt, if its an alternative nut type I.E. star or some other shape with edges, you can hammer a cheap socket over it and try that.(once the socket is shaped you can usually remve the rest and replace with new ones)

REMOVING THE SPARE WHEEL ON A RENAULT MEGAN

The spare wheel is located under the rear boot carpet.BUT some meganes do not come with a spare as its an optional extra when the car is purchased. If there is no spare, then a can of foam and a small compressor to repair and inflate the punctured tyre, should be fitted.
