Question about 1997 Chevrolet C1500
MISSFIRE IS OCCURING IN ALL GEARS. NOTICEABLE AT APROXIMETLY 1800RPM AND VERY NOTICABLE AROUND 23 TO 2500 RPM AND WHEN I FEATHER MY FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDDLE. SO BAD THAT THE ENGNIE LIGHT COMES ON. I HAVE HAD THIS TRUCK HOOKED UP TO A MACHINE TO CHECK CODES AND ALL IT DOES IS READ THERE IS A MISSFIRE IN NUMBER 3 AND 4 CYLINDER. I HAVE REPLACED PLUGS, LEADS, ROTOR, AND CAP. ABOUT TO START PULLING A 7500 LB TRAILER AND I NEED THIS RESOLVED. I THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE RELATED TO COIL,ALTERNATOR,VACUM,OR ECM. I AM CURRENTLY LEANNING TOWARD ECM AS IT IS ONLY OCCURING IN THESE TWO CYLINDERS ANYBODY EXPERIENCE THIS ISSUE AND FEEL LIKE IMPARTING SOME MUCH APPRECIATED WISDOM BEFORE MY SISELLING VISA OVERHEATS.
PS HOW DO YOU REMOVE THE 100 MPH GOVERNOR AT 100MPH IT IS VERY IRRITATING AS THE TRUCK STARTS SHUTTING DOWN AT THAT SPEED. THIS TRUCK HAS SOME AFTERMARKET GOODIES ON IT THAT ARE UNFORTUNETLY NOT BEING ENJOYED TO THERE FULLEST POTENTIAL.... AND NO I DONT PULL MY TRAILER AT THOSE SPEEDS. ANY SUGGESTIONS ON STROKING OUT A 350. HOW MUCH MORE TORQUE AND FUEL ECONOMY/EFFICIENCY COULD I EXPECT WHEN I THROUGH A REBUILD INTO TTHIS ENGINE THIS WINTER. LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR RESPONSES.
