Question about 1997 Chevrolet C1500

1997 CHEVROLET TAHOE MISS FIRRING ON NUMBER 3 AND 4 CYLINDER

MISSFIRE IS OCCURING IN ALL GEARS. NOTICEABLE AT APROXIMETLY 1800RPM AND VERY NOTICABLE AROUND 23 TO 2500 RPM AND WHEN I FEATHER MY FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDDLE. SO BAD THAT THE ENGNIE LIGHT COMES ON. I HAVE HAD THIS TRUCK HOOKED UP TO A MACHINE TO CHECK CODES AND ALL IT DOES IS READ THERE IS A MISSFIRE IN NUMBER 3 AND 4 CYLINDER. I HAVE REPLACED PLUGS, LEADS, ROTOR, AND CAP. ABOUT TO START PULLING A 7500 LB TRAILER AND I NEED THIS RESOLVED. I THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE RELATED TO COIL,ALTERNATOR,VACUM,OR ECM. I AM CURRENTLY LEANNING TOWARD ECM AS IT IS ONLY OCCURING IN THESE TWO CYLINDERS ANYBODY EXPERIENCE THIS ISSUE AND FEEL LIKE IMPARTING SOME MUCH APPRECIATED WISDOM BEFORE MY SISELLING VISA OVERHEATS.
PS HOW DO YOU REMOVE THE 100 MPH GOVERNOR AT 100MPH IT IS VERY IRRITATING AS THE TRUCK STARTS SHUTTING DOWN AT THAT SPEED. THIS TRUCK HAS SOME AFTERMARKET GOODIES ON IT THAT ARE UNFORTUNETLY NOT BEING ENJOYED TO THERE FULLEST POTENTIAL.... AND NO I DONT PULL MY TRAILER AT THOSE SPEEDS. ANY SUGGESTIONS ON STROKING OUT A 350. HOW MUCH MORE TORQUE AND FUEL ECONOMY/EFFICIENCY COULD I EXPECT WHEN I THROUGH A REBUILD INTO TTHIS ENGINE THIS WINTER. LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR RESPONSES.

Auto zone code reader shows miss fire at Cylinder #4 code P304 or multiple misfire code P300 (i think is the code for that) after clearing the computer (battery disco for over 15 min.) I have replaced wires, plugs, rotor and cap. Check Eng. light is on and have a severe chug when at about 1700 or 1800rpm and then again around 2500rpm.. Also sometimes Check Eng light (which is on all the time) flashes when acceleration when cold or at 70mph and have to go into passing gear. Gas millage is unchanged (I drive over 100 miles round trip everyday) and I get almost 460miles out of it. At idle is runs rather smooth when cold and about the same (600rpm) when hot, but in gear it runs real rough sometimes dropping below 500rpm but it does not die. Also it starts right up every time when cold, cranks a bit but then fires when hot. Also, have over 234K miles on it. 8 ) Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the injector is clogged.I had a 1997 tahoe come in with the number 1 cylinder with the same problem and they just had all the injectors replaced 3 months before.I replaced the injector on that cylinder and problem fixed.

2008 chevy tahoe delayed start

The list of possible causes is long.
You'll have to figure out if it is fuel or ignition related to proceed.
I would check fuel pressure and spark first.
If you can't duplicate the symptom it may be tough to diagnose.

Check the compression on that cylinder, and the valve springs on that cylinder,it is most likely that problem,or,a crack in the intake,on number two,They will crack under the intake on that cylinder in the oil valley. If this was at all helpful, please rate, and thank you.

I would check the valves for number 6. If one or both are burned, stuck or out of adjustment it would cause your problem. If a cam lobe for that cylinder is burned or badly worn it could be the culprit.

I have a Chevy 2006 Tahoe. The truck is missing and sometimes struggle to go when i press the gas. Most of the time the problem is noticable when the car is stopped, it begins to kind of jump or shake.

Sounds like a cylinder is missing spark. These have "coil packs" for each cylinder, which is a coil and plug wire all in one. They do go bad, and any garage should be able to check them easily.

2002 grand am 3400. # 5 cyl missfire

It sounds like the problem is isolated to that one cylider if that is the case you may want to check the compression on that cylinder if it is not electrical and no fuel problems it has to be lost of compression

Cylinder 5 missfire 1999 tahoe

How is the pressure in the fuel rail? a low pressure will cause erratic firing of the injectors - the further down the rail u get usually the worse the problem. If the fuel filter was not changed regularly or if the vehicle stood for a while, dirty fuel/standing fuel at some time in the recent past, this **** will accumulate in tyhe injectors. To avoid spending a loada cash, swap a few injectors around and see if the problem moves with the injector.
