I have removed the bottom bolt to my starter and the nut on the top bolt with the wires on it, but I can't seem to get the nut behind the wires on the top bolt loose. Does that nut turn clockwise or counter clockwise? I don't want to strip it by turning it the wrong way.

You'll find 2 bolts that attatch the starter to the trans. housing. Remove the wiring from the starter and the bolts, one of which is towards the top of the starter and one near the bottom.

Follow the top radiator hose back to where it connect to the engine. There is a housing there that the hose connects to. There is two bolts you have to remove to get the housing off and the thermostat is underneath the housing. 4 thumbs up is appreciated if this helps.

How to remove starter for 2002 chrysler town & country

There are two bolts to remove, opposite sides. One is a normal bolt, the other one is hidden by wires. Remove the nut on the ground wire, remove the ground wire, use deep socket over this to remove the bolt. It's easier than you think, about an hour and a half total.

2001 Chrysler Town & Country. When turn key to start nothing happ

Two things to try, If you have a second origional key try that first. If the problem still persists, you will need to take the vehicle to a reputable garage to have the problem diagnosed. You could have a bad key and the theft deterent system is causing the problem or it could be a bad ignition switch or start relay.

Starter location and layout, can't find second bolt

The second bolt for the starter is directly above the starter the trick is you have to get from the top of the engine and ive learned thats its much easier if you take the driver side fan shroud out of the way it gives you much more room to work
