Question about 1998 Chevrolet S-10 Pickup
I had this problem as well. turned out being a problem in the wiring harness that plugs into the top of the pump. I cut in an access panel in the bed of the truck over the pump for ease of installation. the bad part is the wiring harness isn't cheap either ($120).

I take my bed off. Its eight bolts and the fuel pump is easy... I just support my bed with a long 2*4. Its very easy to do!

Well does your fuel pump kick on when you turn the key if so check the spark plugs and wires if not check the relay to your pump or check the fuze and see if it is blown or getting any power to it
