2000 Honda Odyssey Van Top model of it's day...

Van just died in driveway today on the weekend of course. Cannot get it out of gear, shifter will not engage to neutral to back it up to access second vehicle! ( steering not locked). All gauges are dead. Do not think it is battery as the problem with the vehicle not engaging into gear... thinking computer problem, alernator...?

We have a 2000 Odyssey Van. this morning, the engine turns over, but you cannot move the car at all. You just push the level to D, R, etc., but the car will not move at all. It's as if there is a huge cement block at the wheels.

You will see a little rectangle shape of plastic in front of the gauge's, pop that peice out and insert the key, that should allow you to change the gears.

Did you know that there is a transmission problem with Honda Odyssey transmissions, years 1999-2003? There was a class action lawsuit, and the dealer offers an extended warranty for those years. Our transmission was repaired by the dealer for thousands less than we were quoted. Check into it. Good luck!

Gear shift not coming out of park for a 2000 Honda Odyssey

Your vehicle is equiped with a feature that if the brake is not pressed in the gear shifter will not come out of park. If this feature has gone bad you can bypass it. I provided you with the proper way to do it below. I hope this helps and good luck.

My 2000 Honda van dies out when it is started one minute and it starts 15 minutes later no problem. It seems like it is not getting fuel to the engine, The only other thing I noticed was it was parked ...

Hills don't make any difference with the fuel tank setup they have now days. If this is a continuois problem I would replace the fuel filter first and check your air filter( if it is dirty replace it) also have fuel pressure checked. The filters are the cheapest first steps to take. let me know

I replaced EGR valve twice one infact today with dealer part but still the check engine light came on after driving my 2000 Honda odyssey van for 25 miles? any suggestions?

I had an egr code. there is a honda service bulletin out about clogged egr ports. The service bulletin involves putting some kind of sleeve in the port. I just followed the service bulletin to clean out the port, I didn't put in the sleeve or any parts. Seems to be working good for the last six months. It took a couple of hours and some gaskets for the intake manifold.

Honda 2000 odyssey the shifter is in park, but

The gear range switch on the back of the transmission is either bad or out of adjustment. To adjust, try removing the switch and put it in the neutral position (it should click into this spot). Then put the transmission in neutral and reinstall the switch being careful not to let the switch turn at all during re-install. There is a few degrees of adjustment available by turning the switch in either direction as well if it is still off. The car should only start in park or neutral and the reverse lights should only come on when in reverse.

My 2004 Odyssey has recenlty developed an unknown problem. After the van has sat overnight, the next morning, after the van has been started, when I open the back passenger door it beeps like it would if...

one thing you could try ,is remove both battery cables, leave them off for 3 Min's then connect the negative one first, then the positive, this will re boot the pcm,(power control modual), MAKE SURE THE IGNITIONS SWITCH IS OFF,AND REMAINS OFF. somme times the pcm gets a little confused or who knows! but its worth a shot be for u spend a lot of $, good luck to u.

2001 Honda Odyssey Transmission Problem

The Odyssey has notorious bad transmissions from 2000-2003. You will not get anything on a trade, the trans can be fixed for about $2k. If everything else on the van still works and you like it, figure you bought it again for $2k. I changen my wife's Odyssey trans at 175K miles for $2k and she is happy so therefore I am happy too :-)

The D3 code on my 2007 honda odyssey is on what is the problem

Hi!
This is not a code. Instead it is an indication that you are running the van in "overdrive off" mode.

Your van is equiped with a 5 speed automatic transmission. By running in overdrive off you are essentially running in 3rd gear, out of 5 gears. This will cause your van to run at a much higher engine speed, while not going very fast at all and consuming a lot more gas than normal.

You can deactivate this mode by:
1) start the van
2) Press the break pedal
3) Shift to 'D' (drive mode)
4) press the little button that is located on the left side of the shifter, under the shifter button.

If the light does not go out after pressing this button, you may need to take the van to your Honda dealership. Your van should still be under warranty as it is a 2007 model.

Good luck!
