In installing the timing belt, remove the distributor cap, then shift your gear highest speed, say 5th gear, remove the parking brake. Push slowly your car until the rotor points to number one high tension wire plug, That is the TDC, you can now install the timing belt.

Hi there i own a 2004 grand vitara 2.0td with a defective alternator pully is there any cheaper way of replacing the pully than the pully from suzuki

Try a alternator shop and they may be able to rebuild yours reasonably. There should also be rebuilt stuff around that will work well and save you money. Did you try ebay?

Crack on inlet manifold leaking 1997 suzuki vitara jlx 1600cc

hi, their is no way of repairing this to ensure that it will continue to work, your best option is to replace it as a whole, the cheapest option would be either a breakers yard or even try the biggest auction site we all know and love( cant mention no names on hear) xxay im sure you know what site im on about, anyway those would be your cheapest option.
Or you could just buy a new part at the end of the day its up to you.

You could try fixing it but their is no guarantee its going to last due to the heat involved and the parts expanding and retracting so any repair would be difficult to do and also the repair wouldnt last long witch could leave you breaking down some where.

Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

Im changing the timing belt and I lost the position of the marks can some body tell me how to retime it

there are marks on the block near each pully that have a mark. usually block mark is like a triangle, pully mark is a dot. cam pully and crank pully should be only ones to line up. a repair manual will show you the what & where in your vehicle. good luck.
