My car tires were the standard size P185 65 R14. They were recently changed to P185 60 R15. Will this cause any problems on this car?

Original tire
Sidewall: 4.73 in
Radius: 11.73 in
Diameter: 23.47 in
Circumf: 73.73 in
Revs/mile: 859.37
New Tire
Sidewall: 4.37 in
Radius: 11.87 in
Diameter: 23.74 in
Circumf: 74.58 in
Revs/mile: 849.54

Speedometer reading with new tire is 1.16% too slow.
When your speedometer is reading 60mph you are actually traveling 60.69mph.

Engine dying while running full speed and sometimes at idle. Appears to be an ignition problem. At highway speeds the truck will restart itself while in drive. At slower speeds it has to be put in neutral...

This is an electrical problem, I had this last winter where the car was restarting or the starter was not disengaging. The problem was with the starter. the contacts that meet the plunger in the starter were grooved severely and binded with the contacts.
I had to replace the contacts inside the starter.

How many miles before changing the timing belt on a 2004 Dodge Neon?

When the car has 75,000 miles it is a good time to consider changing the timing belt. By 100,000 would be advisable.

My 2004 dodge neon has failed emissions test repeatedly b/c of the readiness moniters. they just tell me to keep driving it, its been months. how can i fix the readiness??

soumds like the computer went crazy, ive run into this with dodge/crysler. what you do is remove the battery cable (neg side) for 5 mins, then reconnect and drive car for 50 miles with a complete cool down, meaning drive 25 miles park overnite then drive another 25 miles then have the retest done it should pass, hope this helps.

Both speedometer & tachometer not working, both reading wrong.

There was a recent class action law suit settled with GM for this exact problem. You can google gm speedometer lawsuit and get lots of information. Unforutunately for most people I think the warranty was limited to 7 years and 70,000 miles. Which isn't a lot of miles for most people.

If you car isn't covered by the warranty there is a way to "reset" the speedometer.

You can turn the ignition slowly like you are going to start the engine. There is a very small "dead" space where you will see your guage lights go off.

What you want to do is cycle the ignition switch from off to that dead space. Each time you do it your stuck speedometer will move towards zero about 10 mph. So if its stuck on 40 you will have to cycle it at least 4 times.

At first you will probably actually hit the ignition and the engine will try to start.....just release it and try it again.

I know this because I have a 04 avalanche with 80,0000 miles and it has this problem about twice a month.
