My radio says "locked" and won't do anything? It doesn't work at all? This has happened before and I turned the car off and then turned it back on and all was good. Can't get this one to work this time?

Re: Factory installed radio
Press two and three and hold at the same time with the key on.... the radio will give you three #'s write these down. Then press AM/FM button and hold... radio will give you three more #'s... you need to call the dealer with these #'s they will give you and unlock code.... This is the ONLY way...

any real answer yet? did the problem ever get resolved? i have the same problem with my sister's car. too cold to diagnose tonight, but will post the solution probably tomorrow. since the lights and heater works, but ignition and radio arent getting power, my first guess is there's probably a fried fusible link which controls the 2nd accessory power to the ignition switch. will post a solution soon.
body contol module problem find a shop you can trust a used bcm can be installed but then you have the problem of the radio not receiving the vin number from the control module so you still have a problem with the radio buy the radio and bcm used from salvage and go through the mechanic to purchase it. I know my mechanic paid 65 dollars for the bcm 2002 buick rendevous and the salvage will sell me the radio that matches for another 65 and my mechanic charged me 125 diagnostic plus time to install be prepared for a lighter wallet.
security system does not disable the starter, it only disables fuel to the
engine. In the fuse block under the hood, locate the STARTER relay. Place your
hand on this relay and see if it clicks while someone else turns the key to
start...if the relay is ok then the starter itself is faulty. Good luck, i hope this helps.
I have run into this problem many times on your particular type of radio. I have worked in a gm dealership for years. Sometimes we can reprogram them and they work better, but all will eventually need replaced. The cheaper option is to have an aftermarket radio installed, for the price of a new factory radio, you could have a much nicer aftermarket unit.
hello . ok this happends after you try 3 times an incorrect radio code on the radio then you have to let the radio on for 60 min and the lock display will turn to code again if this happends constanly then the radio protection is bad and you need a new radio or you may take the radio to a radio fix place for them to take the protection part out
