The ecu doesnt have to be programmed for the car, it should start right up, unless its a bad ecu. Or a whole different problem. unless it has immobiliser.

How do i replace ECU/ECM on 1996 toyota celica?

if it is just the fuel problem with the ecu, replace the chip in side the ecu from the new one you got as then you dont need to re program it then. the fuel chip and control is inside the ecu. you used to be able to get the chips for them and program the codes onto them. should be clip in type chips. if its soldered type as there are 2 types of ecu boards with same part number. you will need to un solder the chip.

I have a 2005 corolla and have swap engine ecu but de car starts and goes off. how do i programme de ecu

first, there is an open recall for ecu problems on corolla, have your vin run by your toyota dealer to verify, hope you still have your old ecu,a new is around 1,800$ plus reprogram and re-write the vin on new computer, dont know if they will program yours(used) ask if there no other option.

It's probably is the Engine dis-abler, I'm having the same problem but the other way around. I replaced the ECU but now the key/Ignition switch isn't synced with the new brain.
