Changed spark plugs in 1993 ford thunderbird 3.8. now engine runs very rough..almost like it wants to stop running.

Double check that you put in the right spark plugs. motorcraft and autolites work well. also make sure that you put the wires on in the proper order. you can find the firing order on line. one more thing is make sure that you didn't crack a spark plug putting them in. Oh and if one of your old plugs have what looks like a black crack in it you have bad wires.

3.8 liter idles rough and stalls. No codes are stored. OBDCII reader indicates "not ready" when checking sensors. Plugs are black and exhaust smells rich. 1996 Thunderbird 3.8 l v-6
Air filter box cover lose and sucking to much air, check to see if cover installed correct. Also could be mass air flow sensor.

Light should have stored code. Go to local autoparts chain & get free scan for codes and go from there. Saves all that guess work & money a lot of times. Write down code(s) and let us know.

Thunderbird won't crank
that your neighborhood mechanic didnt gap the spark plugs if they are not gaped right then the car will not run at all. and also why only change 4 of the 8 you are supose to do them all and a nother thing check the spark plug wires make sure they are connected to the right spark plug the check the dist. cap make sure the cap is not faulty

Ford Escape 3L 2002 Rough idle
generally, when the engine is washed, water gets trapped behind the spark unit and stays there, creating a shorting path for spark plug current. best to dis-mount the spark unit (follow plug wires back to source) and dry and clean it thoroughly.
