Hello, HELP!! 2001 Escort ZX2. It wont starts. Spark at spark wires is OK. Fuel is there and you can smel fuel when I start the car. Looking down at the oil fill hole, the cam shaft rotae when starter is on. Thanks!

try tapping the starter when starting the car.it could be going out..

What have you checked so far ?
Spark to the plugs ?
Fuel to the injectors ?

Car not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities. It can be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then it can be starter issue or faulty alternator or problem with low fuel pressure or no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty ignition coil or injectors getting cracked or dirty and needs to be cleaned.

maye it wasnt the fuel pump it probaly was the fuel filter

THE WIRES THAT GOT DAMAGED IS THE VRS OR VARIABLE RELUCTANCE SENSOR SIGNAL PROVIDES ENGINE POSITION AND RPM INFORMATION TO THE IGNITION MODULE AND CRANKSHAFT SENSOR WHICH FIRE PLUGS.THE BROKE WIRES COULD BE YOUR PROBLEM.

The engine needs three things to run, fuel, air and a spark at the right moment. Check the static timing of the motor, if those marks line up. You did not say you were getting any spark at the plugs. If you have spark, then try a little starting fuild into the intake while turning it over. If you have fuel delivery to the cylinders, the spark is coming at the right moment then it should be running. Any error codes set?

first make sure the car has gas and make sure the battery terminals are clean and make the coil pack for the spark plugs is good

also your car may need a timing belt change

You haven't flooded the engine correct, check the spark plugs. Also, how fresh is the gas? Try shaking the car to get the gas mixed up and try cleaning out the cylinders with a torch to blow out excess gas. You should also either try cleaning the spark plugs or replace them if they look bad. It is starting up fine, correct? The alternator is good, right? I believe it is since it sounds like you didn't drive it long enough to drain the battery but check it anyway. By losing power, did the electronics start shutting off first or did the engine die first as this would show whether the alternator is bad or not. Please answer my questions and get back to me on what shut off first when it died and I will help you narrow down the problem with this car.
