1989 cehvy celebrity cumputer controler problem

My aunts car does not fire on all six of her 2.8L. It was the center 3,6 coil, I switched with another coil, the coil is fine. After I switched it did work for a brief moment but quit after shut off and re-started the car. My friend told me to look for the power wire but I can not find a wire diagram online, money is tight. can you help?

Changed oil sending switch on 1989 celebrity cl wagon 2.8 mpfi now no power to fuel pump relay is good new pump.mayby wrong switch?

These switches all look the same. The difference is how many pins they have in them. They can have 1 to 4 pins on the switch. If yours had 3 pins and they gave you one with 1 pin, theres a problem.

You need to run a fault code test on the computer control module. To learn how go here. The code lists are there as well.

Runs for a few minutes then dies

Famous scenerio. What went out first crank sensor, or ICM( ignition control module). The CKP is a magnetic pulse generator,It produces a AC signal. This sensor is suspect to failure from oil leaking through sensor.and the connector the location directly back of IC module if you have a 2.5,as for the 2.8 its center rear of engine above pan rail. As for the ICM it recieves the signal from CKP (7x) for coil firing sequence. This component is located under exhaust manifold it wear out because of heat.3_16_2012_6_10_01_am.jpg

Cherolet celebrity

Your problem is the ignition module that is mounted under the ignition coils. This would have to be a 2.5. Good luck

Engine will not start. Coil is firing when

If coil is good and plugs are not - there's your problem. You can't have output of coil be good and plugs not work right. Something inbetween is wrong.
