Go to alldatadiy.com and buy the car you are working on and you will have access for a year. This should have mechanical illistrations of what you are looking for. By the way that car does not have a MAP sensor. It uses a mass air flow sensor. Hope this helps...Dan

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

94 isuzu rodeo mat sensors location

mat?
why ask engine questions with no engine stated??????
the old name for IAT (manifold air temp)
new name is Intake air time.. not arguing names.. but using real name puts me on track.
why do easter egg hunts from pro retired mech.s.?
why do that. and not stating symptoms.
NO ENGINE stated, which one?
some engine do not have one. even with EFI.
that is a FACT. ( I had a 92 that has none)

they removed manifold(M name) because the sensors are mostly on the air cleaner box now, true inducted air , temperatures. work best !!!

usa car or canada?we cant guess that.
and they are different. in many ways....
on some engines, the IAT is hidden inside the MAF sensors. (a fact on many)
but no engine or country stated, so can't guess.
that.
even
This vehicle was sold as the Holden Rodeo in New Zealand and Australia.
but yours is in N.Americia right? this is a USA forum
and no one ever states their country and smog parts, vary by you guessed it , country....... and their smog laws... BIG TIME.

------------------------------------------------
USA answering (wild mostly useless guess)
engine 2.6L or 3.2Liters?
some 2.6L have a MAF sensor. (other use a MAP)
the IAT is very important on the MAP engines, but not on any MAF.
"speed density and air density system " they can be 1 or other.
and matters big time.

ill look at alldata.com (usa only it is) for you. done.... (so can you,log in read)
ok, im there,
2.6L has mAF, no MAT (IAT) there, that means the MAF does all that on one part. (measures air flow and corrects air measurements with its internal temperature sensor device inside MAF) (magic?)
now the 3.2L bingo it has a MAP engine and has IAT.
there are other engines....

below is 3.2L IAT (E loc)
end easter egg hunt..... on other engines, its on the air cleaner. or none AT ALL.
Post symptoms and get real help.
say dont want guessing what tests. !!! and win.

Intake air temperature sensor on engines

1.2) IAT - Intake Air Temperature sensor

What is it? The intake air temperature sensor is a small electrical device (Thermistor - temperature dependent resistor) that consists of a small bead on a loop of wire held within a plastic safety frame.

Where is it located? Is most often found associated with the MAF (AMM) in the air ducting immediately after the air filter/cleaner box. On cars without a MAF (a manifold pressure sensor - MAP usually takes on the role) the IAT may be sited nearer the throttle opening in the air ducting. It has only two wires that make connection with it. However, when located with the MAF, a combined multi-pin plug will serve both devices.

How does it work? It measures the intake air temperature by simply measuring the resistance in the thermistor bead on the wire. The IAT is most commonly located alongside the MAF. The IAT thermistor sends a signal proportionate to the air temperature (if the usual NTC thermistor the resistance drops with increasing temperature; if PTC type them resistance increases with increasing temperature). With the engine running, fresh air is drawn through the ducting and cools the heated MAF. The temperature of the air, in conjunction with its ability to cool the MAF allows the ECU to determine the mass of air entering the engine and thereby to select the appropriate amount of fuel by adjusting the injection times.

Symptoms of a faulty IAT
Associated OBD2 error codesDTCs: P0110 - P0114; P0127

  • Higher erratic idle speed - If the IAT is at fault the ECU cannot accurately work out the mass of air entering the engine and may use a default value that is inappropriate.
  • Erratic engine - In the absence of signals from the IAT and MAF the ECU takes readings from the TPS and other sensors and this causes a rough running engine.

How to Check? Unplug the device from the duct and check that it is clean. Put a voltmeter across the contacts and measure the resistance due to the ambient air temperature. If you then breathe on it, raising the local air temperature around the probe, you will see the resistance change as a consequence. You are looking for a change in resistance in line with a change of air temperature. If there is infinite resistance, consistent with a broken circuit, or there is no measurable response to change in air temperature then the IAT is faulty.

How to Fix? Replace it

Where is iat sensor located on 2006 tpyota tacoma 4,ol ?

Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor and Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor are combined into a single assembly which is called Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. This MAF sensor is located on the air filter box near air filter hose, and is connected with a five wire connector. You cannot replace the IAT sensor alone. Instead a MAF sensor is replaced altogether.

Map sensor location

Located on top cylinder on transmission side. The MAP sensor is located either directly on the intake manifold or it is mounted high in the engine compartment and connected to the intake manifold

Exact location of the iat sensor on a nissan pathfinder 1996

The Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor/Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor is located in the air cleaner case.
// // 0) preLoad.src = ctl00_cphLeft_chRepairTreeNav_tvTOC_ImageArray[i]; } ctl00_cphLeft_chRepairTreeNav_tvTOC_Data.lastIndex = 34; ctl00_cphLeft_chRepairTreeNav_tvTOC_Data.populateLog = theForm.elements['ctl00_cphLeft_chRepairTreeNav_tvTOC_PopulateLog']; ctl00_cphLeft_chRepairTreeNav_tvTOC_Data.treeViewID = 'ctl00$cphLeft$chRepairTreeNav$tvTOC'; ctl00_cphLeft_chRepairTreeNav_tvTOC_Data.name = 'ctl00_cphLeft_chRepairTreeNav_tvTOC_Data'; //]]>

The Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor is an integral part of the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. Looks like this:

I'm pretty sure the MAF is sandwiched between the Air Filter Box and the intake tube. Should be 4 screws.

Location of IAT sensor in the car?

For Hyundai Car 1999-05 - Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor Location (check several options):

1.- The IAT sensor is located against the firewall to the left side of the engine. It is combined with the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor.

2.- This sensor is located in the air intake plenum assembly. On some vehicles this sensor is combined with the MAP/MAF sensor.

3.- The IAT sensor is located in the air plenum assembly. On some vehicles it is combined with the MAF sensor.

4.- This sensor is located in the air intake plenum assembly. On some vehicles this sensor is combined with the MAP/MAF sensor.

5.- This sensor is located in the air intake plenum assembly. It is combined with the Manifold Absolute Pressure (AFS) sensor.

6.- This sensor is located in the air intake plenum assembly. It is combined with the Manifold Absolute Pressure (AFS) sensor.

Locate IAT sensor

Hi

Follow the plastic intake tubing from the air box. You will first come across the MAF sensor which is located right next to the airbox. Keep following the tubing. You are looking for a small sensor plugged into the tubing. It should only have a two wire plug to it.

If you cant find it then look on the intake manifold itself, and if it is not there then it is built into the MAF sensor.
