Question about 2000 Ford Taurus
Battery was bad; replaced it and now the security symbol flashes when I turn the key to start-no clicking or any noise to attempt to start. Could this be the key with a chip is bad? I cannot see the chip but was told it could be bad. Or is it something in the security system that needs to be reset and if so how is it done? thanks for any info.

IN 2000 when focus was introduced as a 2001, the model had 11 yes 11 recalls. the car is over all still a great car for the money. Since the 2001 year model, focus has made a much better image for it'self. However one of the problems was the ignition/nuteral safty switch, chip whatever you want to call it. It was one of the recalls. If you find out for sure that is the problem, don't let them B.S. you @ the ford dealer they will try to deny the recalls & maybe even the problem. That is Fords policy. I know this because I sold Fords in 2000 for four months. Now keep in mind it could also be your starter. try hitting your starter with a hammer while someone is trying to start it. But be ready to disconnect your battery quickly incase your starter does not disengage,so you don't have a electrical fire.Thats about the only info. I can give you off hand. Goodluck.
