Sometimes the oil light flickers when I'm at a traffic light. I just had my oil changed and it is still doing it.

Either they did not put enough oil in when they changed it or you are having problems with your oil filter by-passing. If your oil is full and there is no problem with the filter then you have a serious problem with you bearings. When they get worn, the oil goes through them too fast to hold the oil pressure up. If you have over 80,000 miles on it, the bearings could be the problem. It is fine when the oil is cold and thick and when the engine RPM is up but when the oil is hot and the engine is idling it can't develop enough pressure. Put in a heavier weight oil and sell the car quick. It is not worth rebuilding or replacing the engine.

2006 pt cruiser oil light

It's OK that oil light flickers or comes on while starting. It turns off when oil pressure comes up to normal. That won't happen till car is running.

My 1984 nissan pickup oil light is flickering

if the oil is clean, meaning changed regularly, and is full and you have no engine noise while driving or at idle then you have a bad oil pressure switch that will need to be replaced.this is an electrical switch that uses oil pressure to push on the switch to turn off the light.sometimes they get tired and don`t work as intended.and usually fail at idle as there is not enough oil pressure to over come the defect of the switch to turn off the light.

Replace the oil pressure sender. The sender is what is turning the warning light on.If you replace the oil pressure sender it should fix the flickering light problem. If it does not , the light is an indication of more serious motor killing problem. Fortunately, the sender is under $10 and usually fails before the actual oil pump.

as long as you have checked the basics, its possible its idling to low,if its ok when engine is cold and only happens when hot,(oil gets thin when it gets hot) i would recommend having oil pressure checked with a gauge

the flickering oil light is a common problem with the 2.7 engine. as long as the oil level is full and oil is changed regularly, and the light just flickers and doesnt stay on , shouldnt be a problem, or get the oil sending unit changed. the second problem car stallings sounds like either cam or crank position sensor. does the engine light come on. if so the code should tell you.

Gear box has rough changes in traffic ie between traffic lights. but goes away when you accellerate through it.

For a manual transmission, Check the gear oil in your transmission, sometimes when it's low the shifter will be hard to shift even with the clutch in. For an automatic transmission, check your transmission fluid, and if you can, do a transmission filter/gaskit service. Good luck!
