If it has 2 tiny holes on each side of the faceplate, you'll need to buy a special tool (shaped like the letter U). Walmart carries it for about $8-$10. Shove the tool into the holes, pull them sideways, and as you hold them sideways, pull the cd player unit out of the dash.

How i can remove 2003 ford explorer security or immobilizer

the factory security system is integrated into the systems electronics to remove this will require removal of the dash assembly and dropping the steering column out, u will need factory wiring diagrams to have any chance of success and a very good understanding of how to read and use the diagrams, in short this is not a job for a do it yourself-er, I am a 25 year Ford factory trained tech and this is the 100% truth of the problem you face trying to bypass this.

There is nothing in that deck u can repair or even get parts for, call the Ford dealer and get the phone number of the factory authorized radio repair center near u, send the unit out yourself, don't go through the dealer they will take the bill from the repair center and double it.

Ford Explorer 2003: pioneer: factory 6 CD error

i dare say your cd player has had something move internally from the shock of the accident and thats whats causing the fault. lol either that or someone has gone and forced a 7th cd into it. i think the cheapest and easiest way to fix this would be to get a fascia kit and a new cd player beacuse ford will charge like a wounded bull for a replacement one. this is what i did after i serviced my car and got given the wrong code for the cdplayer from the ford dealership

I have a factory cd player in my 2001 ford explorer sport. usually i can put the cd in half way and it would automatically take it in. the cd player doesnt do that anymore. how do i fix that?

sorry but i dont think you can. it will be that your cd player is probably on its way out. does it eject cd's alot slower than what it used to? if it does this is definately the case. the little motor that does this will be failing, if it ejects at the same rate still i think the sensor that determines when to automatically pull the cd in will be shot

Ford 6000 cd player

There is no user repair procedure for this problem, the factory repair manual says REMOVE PLAYER FOR REPAIR BY AN AUTHORIZED FORD ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS REPAIR CENTER. claims they have factory repair manuals, they have nothing of the sort, this is not to say some experts may have manuals, we do, but we work from home and in most cases have a small library. Experts are not employed by, we help free of charge as much as we can with the general automotive knowledge we have learned while working as auto technicians, specific test values, repair procedures and illustrations are unique to each car line, these are not in most cases available to us. Thanks for using FixYa!
