This is normal for cars to consume more fuel after crossing a certain speed limit.. In most cars it is optimum when its going at less than 3000RPM. Nothing to worry its entirely normal..

Over fuelling could be caused by several things, some of which I will list
Injectors sticking open (all 4 of them not likely though)
Airfilter choked solid !
ECU fault causing injectors to stay open (not too common but have seen it)
The map sensor in the ecu on some of the models could be duff(this was fairly common at one time)
Coolant sensor faulty giving ecu full richness signal(possibilty as it's simply a sensor)
A possible quick fix sometimes for the poor compression is to squirt a little oil down the bores to help seal the rings and this can help get compression back up again.
If the car wont start with this method on the starter sometimes a tow start can force the engine into life however even when started the original fault needs to be determined as it will quickly overload your catylyst if left running to long.
I am giving you suggestions for faults that I have seen over the years on these particular rovers and sometimes it can be other things but the above possibilitys are things that will heavily affect the engine

Hi there!

Check the vacuum lines for any leaks. Also look at the air intake run to see if there is a movable vane that has siezed or not operating correctly.

Hope this helps you.

Carborator fuel drain pontiac gto 1964 tripower

Have you ever seen a fuel drain on anything
but power equipment, small engines

I assume you have & are looking at a tripower
carb set up

Why would you need a drain?

I was around & had brand new 65 vette,327/365 carb

I never bought the 1964 GTO, because I wanted
the HI Pro 421 & it only went to the nascar & professional
super stock drag teams.

Ive got a 95 subaru wrx single turbo has been going ok bit doesent idle perfict and now when we get up in the revs say anywere over 2 to 2 and a half thousand it just runs like a bag of **** please help

The most common cause is due to a proper tune up.Plugs, wires, gas filter, air filter and if all is well on that aspect of the engine I would change the EGR valve due to fuel mixture and advance control due to turbo.........Hope this helps you out.

The wire needs to be replaced - splice it in five inches from the back and run new wire up to fuse and splice it in five inches from the fuse. This should solve your problem...if there is no continuity on the wire than the wire is bad.
