They can stick good. if ur going to scrap the old one then just break them off and take it out. then u can cut the hose back just enough to get them out. make sure u dont cut urself though. the broken aluminum will be very sharp.

1998 Ford Taurus, heater won't blow hot air through any vent including defrost, coolant level is okay, no heat no matter how long car is run, car doesn't overheat, can't get warm air even if run at air...

common problem is the water resivor cracks up at the bottom... it appears that your water level is fine because the car doesnt over heat but i am willing to bet that resivor doesnt have water to the top. The radiator will hold just enough water to keep it cool. I replaced mine 3 times the sulution is doing to sound weird but go to the junk yard and get one off a murcury sable. dont know why but the sables res doesnt crack like that

Does a 93 econoline passenge van typically have a rear heater.

Yes it does have a heater core. Depending on options and series the core will be on passenger side behind the dash or under hood on passenger side. Just look for your heater hoses and follow them and they will lead you right to it. If you have any trouble let me know and I'll get info you need.

How do you remove the console in a 95 grand am se

It is very hard!! You actually are supposed to remove the whole dash!! I took a shortcut and just took the screws out of the plastic box under the dash where the heater core is,behind the console, next to the floorboard, and cut it across the back on the bottom. You then have to get under the car to remove this screw that is on the firewall between the 2 heater core hoses..then remove the hoses from the heater core on the firewall. Then you can get back inside the vehicle and it will pull out. When you replace, the cover that you cut, just put the screws back in and put some tape across where you cut the cover off. It saved me from having to take the whole dash out, and having to spend $300 to have a mechanic replace my heater core!!

Need to replace the heater core

Under the dash for sure, but you may need to drop the whole box and may be mounted with bolts from the engine compartment. You will need to disconnect the hoses from the core from under the hood

Heater core

It is not easy. you have to remove the old heater core under the dashboard.First you remove the hoses at the firewall going into the cab.You have to drain the coolant and be careful not to spill it when the core is removed. Then you remove the core which is attached with some small bolts and screws. It is uncomfortable to say the least. But it can be done . Did you try to flush out the old heater core ? Sometimes you can flush out the heater core by removing the hoses from the heater core attachment lines . Not the ones to the firewall. See which one is the inlet and the outlet. Run a hose with a good amount of preassure not a lot. you don't want to rupture the core. Run the water into the inlet and it will come out the outlet hose. Flush it to remove all debris until all you see is clear water coming out. Then reverse the hoses and place the hose on the outlet and it will come out the inlet. If the core is leaking you will see a wet spot in the carpet under the dash. Then the heater core has to be replaced.

Cant get heat in the cab

Make sure that you have 2 heater hoses going into the dash. These are 5/8" hoses coming from the water pump and going into the top of the engine. The 2 hoses go through the firewall into the heater core. If you don't have the 2 hoses going to the heater core, the previous owner may have it routing itself back to the engine. It the hoses are routed back to the engine, there's a chance of the heater core being bad as well and this is why it's by-passed.
